Weekly Wrap Up: 8/10/17
Another good week, hope you’ve all had fun. I’ve not read everything I hoped but I think I was being a bit ambitious. I have a few reviews to write, I also have an update for my last batch of SPFBO books and need to also outline my next batch. My reads last week:
- Deadlands by Seanan McGuire
- The Crow Garden by Alison Littlewood
A bit ambitious maybe, but lets just see how it goes.
This week I’m hoping to read:
- The Stone in the Skull by Elizabeth Bear
- The Tiger’s Daughter by K Arsenault Rivera
Hope you have a lot of good reading to look forward to.
Let me know what you’re reading.
Weekly Wrap Up : 01/10/17
I love this time of year, I have to confess, the colours of the trees, the falling leaves, there seems to be a certain scent in the air and the nights start to draw in. It’s my time of year. I realise it’s not everyone’s favourite time of the year but for me it just feels like the season of promise. That probably sounds odds because of the cold weather and the shorter days but I love the seasons and Autumn and Winter are my favourites – perhaps because I’m a December child. Anyway, I thought I’d just get that out of the way because I was feeling all whimsical. I’ve had a lovely week, I have no grumbles and I hope you all have too. I’ve already had a monthly round up post so this week my wrap up is purely to look at my potential reads for the next week which will hopefully be:
- The Tiger’s Daughter by K Arsenault Rivera
- Deadlands by Seanan McGuire
- The Crow Garden by Alison Littlewood
A bit ambitious maybe, but lets just see how it goes.
Hope you have a lot of good reading to look forward to.
Let me know what you’re reading.
Weekly Wrap Up : 24/9/17
Hope you’ve all had a good week. I’ve been a bit busy as we just sold our house and so this involved lots of packing and sorting out. In terms of reading, well maybe not quite to plan but not too bad.
This week I’ve read:
- Sea of Rust by C Robert Cargill, which was brilliant; and
- The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman. I love Alice Hoffman and was so excited to pick this one up that I confess I bumped it up the list. And it was worth it.
Next week I’m hoping to pick up:
- The Last Dog on Earth by Adrian J Walker
- A Pocketful of Crows by Joanne M Harris; and
- The Tiger’# Daughter by K Arsenault Rivera
Hope you’ve all had a good week.
Let me know what your reading plans are.
Weekly Wrap Up : 10/9/17
I’ve had another busy week and weekend. Changes at work have meant I’ve had little free time and this weekend apart from a party on Saturday evening we’ve been moving our daughter into her university accommodation and also spent all Sunday visiting relatives – so the week has flown and I’ve had very little reading time, plus I’m shattered now! I did manage to finish An Alchemy of Masques and Shadows which was just excellent and I’m now reading and enjoying the other two books I was hoping to finish: Godsgrave and Sea of Rust.
What I’ve read:
- An Alchemy of Masques and Shadows by Curtis Craddock:

What I’m hoping to finish next week:
- Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
- Sea of Rust by C Robert Cargill
Hope you all had a good week. Let me know what you’re reading.
Weekly Wrap Up : 3/9/17
This week I haven’t finished any of my books – simply because I’ve got a few books on the go all at once, and yet again the week flew by too quickly due to everything going on. We had a party for friends and family last Bank Holiday weekend which was great, the weather stayed good but it took a lot of planing, preparation and clearing up after! On top of that I had a couple of my SPFBO books to check out. I’m now ready to move onto the next batch and a post will follow shortly to outline the next five on my list. So, here’s what I’m reading and hoping to complete this week:
- An Alchemy of Masques and Shadows by Curtis Craddock
- Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
- Sea of Rust by C Robert Cargill
My cover compare this week:
I like both of these covers. I particularly like the gorgeous font of the first but I also love the detail in the second.
Hope you all had a good week. What you currently reading?
