Today is day 17 of Drawlloween – a fun event that I found out about here on the lovely ‘Not Yet Read’. So, my take on a demon is a little odd (or embarrassing) but here it is:
‘If you go down to the woods today…..
you’d better to in disguise….’
Art it Up. This is a meme hosted by Tabitha over at Not Yet Read. The idea being to see if you can come up with some inspiration for a little sketch or doodle from your last week’s reading or just anything else in general. My recent reading includes The Rebirth of Tao by Wesley Chu and the Sleeper and the Spindle by Neil Gaiman. Over at the Fantasy Review Barn today’s topic is fauna in fantasy – with this and the fairytale I’ve tried to go for a creepy forest – could have done with a bit more shading but….
A pox on both your houses…

The idea being to see if you can come up with some inspiration for a little sketch or doodle from your last week’s reading or just anything else in general. My recent reading includes Black Heart by Holly Black – this is a series about curse workers whose magic can be transmitted through touch. Their magic is illegal and therefore curse workers must wear gloves at all times. Hence this sketch. Where did the gloves go? Why are there no gloves?
Face off!

The idea being to see if you can come up with some inspiration for a little sketch or doodle from your last week’s reading or just anything else in general. My recent reading includes the first part of Max Gladstone’s Three Parts Dead (as part of a readalong), and The Voyage of the Basilisk by Marie Brennan. If you’ve read Three Parts Dead I hope you’ll know what I’ve done here:

The idea being to see if you can come up with some inspiration for a little sketch or doodle from your last week’s reading or just anything else in general. My recent reading includes Flex by Ferrett Steinmetz, The Death House by Sarah Pinborough and I’m currently reading The Mechanical by Ian Tregillis. This weird little picture is a strange mash-up!
