Hope you’ve all had a good week. I’ve been a bit busy as we just sold our house and so this involved lots of packing and sorting out.  In terms of reading, well maybe not quite to plan but not too bad.

This week I’ve read:

  1. Sea of Rust by C Robert Cargill, which was brilliant; and
  2. The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman. I love Alice Hoffman and was so excited to pick this one up that I confess I bumped it up the list. And it was worth it.

Next week I’m hoping to pick up:

  1. The Last Dog on Earth by Adrian J Walker
  2. A Pocketful of Crows by Joanne M Harris; and
  3. The Tiger’# Daughter by K Arsenault Rivera

Hope you’ve all had a good week.

Let me know what your reading plans are.

I’m thrilled to hear you loved The Rules of Magic! I NEED to read it soon😀 Oh wow, moving is hard. I hope the move is a good one, though. Good luck packing all your books!

I can’t deny that moving was hard work – absolutely exhausting! Still its done now.

The Rules of Magic is awesome!

Yes – and The Rules of Magic is one I am increasingly tempted by – though I have sinned enough recently…:) Best of luck with the move and like Tammy, my thoughts are with you packing up your books.

Rules of Magic was brilliant. I think I’m on a winning streaks with books at the moment. Pocketful of Crows was also sublime and I’m loving Last Dog – I think I nearly cracked a rib laughing so hard earlier today.

Yes – Rules of Magic sounds awesome – I’m glad you’re enjoying Last Dog, I think the writing is extraordinary – you really are on a winning streak:))

      • @lynnsbooks

I know – I’ve been so lucky with my books just recently.
        Lynn 😀

You certainly have! Though perhaps also some good judgement in the selection plays its part, too.

I can’t wait for your review of Sea of Rust! The fact you called it “brilliant” makes me more than look forward to your thoughts 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

It really was brilliant – review will be up shortly.
      Lynn 😀

Can’t wait to hear your thought on both of these. I want to read them both soon! Good luck with the move.

    • @lynnsbooks

I’ve read Pocketful of Crows now – and wow! Last Dog on Earth I’m just over a third in and think it’s brilliant. Very funny indeed although there is a lot of bad language (mainly from the dog) and some of the humour (I think) is very British – but, yes, so far I’m loving it.
      Lynn 😀

I actually stuck to my reading plans for once, and read Sea of Rust like I said I would! Amazing! 😀 I really enjoyed it!

    • @lynnsbooks

I loved it too – and I’ve actually stuck to plan this week (so far!)
      Lynn 😀

I’m so glad you loved Sea of Rust! I thought it was a really good, too.

    • @lynnsbooks

It was so good, I confess I was puzzled about how I’d feel about it reading a book that is based on a world where no humans exist at all – feels a bit odd in a way – but I just loved it and it was a compelling story.
      Lynn 😀
