This week has been and gone so quickly. I’ve managed to read both the books I was hoping to from last week (reviews to follow) which were:
- Avengers of the Moon by Allen Steele
- The Moonlight War by SKS Perry (SPFBO)
And, next week I’m hoping to read (at least two books and maybe make a start on the third):
- Assassin’s Charge by Claire Frank – which will mark the end of the SPFBO challenge.
- Damnation by Peter McLean
- Owl and the Electric Samurai by Kristi Charish
And, finally, my cover compare this week is a book I’m hoping to get to very soon, because, spiders! (look away now if you don’t like eight legged critters):
I have to go with the spiders.

Last weekend the weather was glorious and so I was in the garden working like a maniac, this week, nothing but rain, so, back to the decorating. Not much reading this week because I’ve been so busy that the day has virtually gone before I even know what’s going on and then I just crash into bed. Anyway, my reads – not much to report:
- Skullsworn by Brian Staveley – completed and loved this – my review here.
- Avengers of the Moon by Allen Steele – not done very well – purely because of the aforementioned decorating – about a third in to this one.

And, next week I’m hoping to finish:
- Avengers of the Moon by Allen Steele which I’ve also just started.
- The Moonlight War by SKS Perry (SPFBO)
And, finally, my cover compare this week is a book I’m very excited to get to:
I like both these covers but I think this one is very ominous with the dark colour and the footsteps:

Weekly Wrap Up : 9/4/17
This week was another quick one – the sun broke out so not only am I now trying to do bits and pieces of decorating but I’m also trying to get the garden back into some sort of semblance of order, so, basically, the house looks like a DIY experiment exploded and the garden looks like a jungle with a little pathway cut through it and I’m basically pooped! But, like the show, the reading must go on and, anyway, it gives me a good excuse to sit down. So this week I’ve read:
Last week’s reads:
- Borrowed Souls by Chelsea Mueller
- The Path of Flames by Phil Tucker
And, next week I’m hoping to finish:
- Skullsworn by Brian Staveley already reading this, about a quarter in and so far really enjoying it.
- Avengers of the Moon by Allen Steele which I’ve also just started.
And, finally, my cover compare this week:
My favourite, without a doubt – is this one:

Weekly Wrap Up : 2/4/17
This week is a very quick wrap up because I’ve already completed a monthly wrap up (here).
So, simply to say that this week I’m hoping to read these two wonderful looking books:
The Path of Flames by Phil Tucker
Borrowed Souls by Chelsea Mueller
And, finally, my cover highlight this week:
This is going to be one of my next reads too and I can’t wait! Plus checkout the most excellent cover:

Weekly Wrap Up : 26/3/17
Hope you’ve all had a good week. I’m so busy at the moment. Work is busy, social life is very active and on top of that we’re decorating – so, as a consequence there isn’t a single room in the house that doesn’t look like a storm just ripped through it! So, I confess, I’m tired. Plus what horrible news from London this week, my heart goes out to all those people affected.
Last week’s reads:
- The Heart of Stone by Ben Galley – review to follow
- Collapsing Empire by John Scalzi
I listened to a few more chapters of my Miriam Black book and also started my next SPFBO book.
So, next week I’m hoping to finish:
- Thunderbird by Chuck Wendig
- The Music Box by K A Stewart
And, finally, my cover highlight this week:

I love this series and think the covers are all great. I can’t wait to start this – hopefully this week.
