This has been a fairly meh week for one reason or another.  Lots of rain, everything feels wet and grey plus I had a rather bad headache midweek which just stopped me in my tracks for almost two days.  But, in spite of little annoyances I read two books and thoroughly enjoyed both so here’s what I read this week and what I plan to read next week with two reviews to follow shortly.

My books:

  1. The Kingdom of Copper by S. A. Chakraborty
  2. Polaris Rising: A Novel by Jessie Mihalik

Next week’s reads:

  1. The Strawberry Thief (Chocolat #4) by Joanne Harris
  2. The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins
  3. The Dollmaker by Nina Allan

Currently reading:

  1. The Strawberry Thief by Joanne Harris

Well, I went and tempted fate last week by saying we were having lovely weather so of course now Storm Freya has hit the country with up to 80 mph winds – I hope everyone stays safe!  *Shakes fist* at temperamental weather.  Last week I read two books which included one of my SPFBO finalists (the review for which will be posted tomorrow).

What an amazing week with lots of lovely weather – quite unknown in the UK for this month of the year – all the little green buds are peaking up hopefully through the soil!  Fingers crossed that this mild weather continues and all these new green shoots don’t get blitzed with frost.  Reading wise I’ve read three books this week.  I’ve gone a little off plan though.  I read The Anointed and also Never Contented Things.  I did read some of The Orphanage of Gods but I’ve had to put that down for the moment.  I think it’s a case of ‘it’s me not you’ but my mood just isn’t in the right place so I’m going to give us both a bit of space.

My books:

  1. Never-Contented Things by Sarah Porter
  2. The Anointed by Keith Ward (one of the SPFBO finalists)
  3. Bound by Mark Lawrence

Next week’s reads:

  1. Symphony of the Wind by Steven McKinnon (one of the SPFBO finalists)
  2. The Kingdom of Copper by S. A. Chakraborty
  3. The True Queen by Zen Cho

Currently reading:

  1. Symphony of the Wind by Steven McKinnon

Upcoming reviews:

  1. Never-Contented Things by Sarah Porter

  3. Bound by Mark Lawrence

Weekly Wrap Up : 17/2/19

I’ve had a fairly decent week this week.  I’ve actually been trying to do quite a lot more walking on a regular basis and I’m quite enjoying that.  I’ve read The Taking of Annie Thorne which I really enjoyed and my review will be up tomorrow for that book.  White Stag – I have mixed feelings about, in some respects I think it was a good read but then I have certain issues.  My review will be posted Thursday so hopefully I’ll have cleared my thoughts by then.  The Orphanage of Gods, well, I’m struggling a little bit to be honest.  I’ve read just over a third but I have questions, a lot of questions and they’re kind of annoying me a little so I’ve decided to put it down for the time being and read something else, clear my mind a little and then return.  I posted another SPFBO review this weekend just gone which means I have three more reviews to post.

My books:

  1. The Taking of Annie Thorne C. J. Tudor
  2. White Stag by Kara Barbieri

Next week’s reads:

  1. The Orphanage of Gods by Helena Coggan
  2. Never-Contented Things by Sarah Porter
  3. The Anointed by Keith Ward (one of the SPFBO finalists)

Upcoming reviews:

  1. The Taking of Annie Thorne C. J. Tudor
  2. White Stag by Kara Barbieri

I’d love to know what you’re reading this week.
