Every Tuesday over at the  The Broke and Bookish we all get to look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or ten) examples to demonstrate that particular topic.  For our final TTT for 2015 the topic is:

Anticipated Releases For The First Half of 2016

I have a lot of books that I’m looking forward to in 2016 – I’ll probably schedule a full list at the start of the year but in sticking to my ten, and in no particular order, this week’s choices are:

  1. Wheel of Osheim by Mark Lawrence, June 2nd
  2. City of Blades by Robert J Bennett, January 26th
  3. The Thorn of Emberlain by Scott Lynch, July 21st
  4. Morning Star by Pierce Brown, February 9th
  5. Medusa’s Web by Tim Powers,  January 19th
  6. Snakewood by Adrian Selby, March 15th
  7. 13 Minutes by Sarah Pinborough, February 18th
  8. Fire Touched by Patricia Briggs, March 8th
  9. The Dragon Round by Stephen S Power, July 5th
  10. Time Siege by Wesley Chu, July 12th

Naughty or nice…

‘Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year’

I’m not going with my most anticipated reads for 2016 here – I’m picking 10 books off my wishlist – some of them may have only been on there for a couple of weeks – some nearly a couple of years.  I will pick up copies at some point!:

  1. Pantomime by Laura Lam
  2. Skyborn by David Dalglish
  3. Enchantress by James Maxwell
  4. Birdy by Jess Valance
  5. Wake of Vultures by Lisa Bowen
  6. Thorn Jack by Katherine Harbour
  7. Roses and Rot by Kat Howard
  8. The Girls at the Kingfisher Club by Genevieve Valentine
  9. The Hob’s Bargain by Patricia Briggs
  10. The Last Rite by Jasper Kent

All that glitters…

Top Ten Best Books I Read In 2015

Now, frankly, this is too early for me to make that list – there’s a jolly good list over at The Speculative Herald (found here) and I will make my list at the very end of the year – because I want to squeeze in every last little drop of reading before I decide – you just never know.  So, instead of 10 best books for 2015 I’ve gone for 10 awesome book covers for books I read in 2015.  (I may have slightly gone over 10 – but….)

New to me…

This week over at The Broke and Bookish the topic for discussion is:

‘Top Ten New-To-Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015’

This week feels easy and then at the same time not so easy – I had a few authors I wanted to include so it was tough to narrow it down and in actual fact this is the first time ever that I’ve gone over 10!  My new authors this year:

  1. Ferrett Steinmetz – Flex
  2. Ian Tregillis – The Mechanical
  3. Juliet Marillier – Dreamer’s Pool
  4. Wesley Chu – Lives of Tao
  5. Sebastien de Castell – Traitor’s Blade
  6. Clay and Susan Griffith – Vampire Empire
  7. Ben Tripp – The Fifth House of the Heart
  8. Bradley P Beaulieu – Twelve Kings
  9. Leigh Bardugo – Six of Crows
  10. Michael Livingston – The Shards of Heaven
  11. Genevieve Cogman – The Invisible Library

This week over at The Broke and Bookish the topic for discussion is:

‘Top Ten 2016 Debuts Novels We Are Looking Forward To’

I have a confession.  I’m useless when it comes to knowing if a book is a debut or not.  I enlisted some help from Goodreads and did a bit of looking around elsewhere – anyway, here are my 10, deepest apologies if these aren’t debuts – but they sound pretty good regardless:

  1. Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman (because – Blackbeard)
  2. The Girl from Everywhere by Heidi Heilig
  3. Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
  4. These Vicious Masks by Tarun Shanker
  5. A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess
  6. After the Woods by Kim Savage
  7. Bite by K S Merbeth
  8. Shallow Graves by Kali Wallace
  9. Bound by Blood and Sand by Becky Allen
  10. This slot remains open to suggestion…

I thought we should have a few covers (because I am that fickle!)
