Naughty or nice…

Every Tuesday over at the  The Broke and Bookish we all get to look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or ten) examples to demonstrate that particular topic.  This week we’re looking at:

‘Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year’

I’m not going with my most anticipated reads for 2016 here – I’m picking 10 books off my wishlist – some of them may have only been on there for a couple of weeks – some nearly a couple of years.  I will pick up copies at some point!:

  1. Pantomime by Laura Lam
  2. Skyborn by David Dalglish
  3. Enchantress by James Maxwell
  4. Birdy by Jess Valance
  5. Wake of Vultures by Lisa Bowen
  6. Thorn Jack by Katherine Harbour
  7. Roses and Rot by Kat Howard
  8. The Girls at the Kingfisher Club by Genevieve Valentine
  9. The Hob’s Bargain by Patricia Briggs
  10. The Last Rite by Jasper Kent

I’m not familiar with any of these hmmm…. I hope you’ll get some of these for Christmas this year! 😀 Happy reading! Here’s my list

Haha – who knows, perhaps I’ll get vouchers – in which case a few of them could be winging their way to me in the New Year.
      Lynn 😀

Ooh you have a few on here that I want too! Wake of Vultures, and Rose’s and ROT in particular. I hope Santa brings you what you want this year:-)

    • @lynnsbooks

Well, I’m hoping that if he doesn’t bring me these exact books he may bring a voucher ^^ Or maybe if I make all my friends and relatives read this post…..

I loved “The Hob’s Bargain” when i read it years ago! I hope you find it under your tree. 😀

    • @lynnsbooks

I hope so too. I’ve had that one quite strongly recommended.
      Lynn 😀

“Skyborn” came recently to my attention and it looks quite intriguing so… let’s see what Santa will bring! 🙂

  5. Barb(boxermommyreads)

I need Roses and Rot too. Wish it came out earlier. Great list and I hope you have a Happy Holiday!

Can’t wait for some of these – hoping for some book vouchers – although people hate giving vouchers don’t they! It seems so impersonal – but I love book vouchers – guilt free book buying.

You’ve just reminded me I’ve had Enchantress for well over a year! So easy to lose books amongst books! Maybe I’ll wrap it up and give it to myself…. 😛

    • @lynnsbooks

Haha – no wrap it up and give it to me!!! LOL And, yes, it’s very easy to lose books. Very easy.
      Lynn 😀

I’m with you on Skyborn and Roses And Rot! Hope Santa leaves you a couple of the books on your list 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

Or a voucher !! 😀 😀 Vouchers are our friends.
      Lynn 😀

I really want to read Pantomime, too! I’ve heard that it’s one of the best queer/LGBTQ+ books out there, at least in SFF. Wake of Vultures sounds amazing, Bring on more Western-inspired books, I say! 🙂

  9. Lisa (@TenaciousReader)

Great picks! I loved Wake of Vultures and after Mogsy’s review of Skyborn, that one is high on my list as well

  10. Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum

So many good picks here. Like Skyborn! *flails* Also, Pantomime is a great book to ask for as a gift, especially since I think the book got a spiffy new cover this year from Tor UK? Hope you find some of these reads under your tree this year!

I love this list! Roses and Rot and The Girls at the Kingfisher Club both look like something that I would be happy to read. I hope that you find some of these goodies under the tree. Merry Christmas.

Wake of Vultures is on my list!! I’m only holding off on getting myself a copy because I have waaaay too many things to read and I’m just overloaded atm (I think Santa might actually be doing me a favor by holding off on the books this year :P). I also heard great things about Skyborn – been a while since I’ve read about angels battling 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

I know what you mean – my bought books always take a back seat as well which means I have a huge stack of them.
      Lynn 😀

  13. Ria

I agree with just about all of these! Santa would get a bonus if he left those under my tree!

(Of course, with me being pagan, I think Santa skips my house, so I’ll just have to buy them myself later. :p)

    • @lynnsbooks

Well, I’m not holding out much hope for these to be honest – but you never know, I might get the odd voucher.
      Lynn 😀
