Follow the white rabbit…

Art it Up.  This is a weekly meme hosted by Tabitha over at Not Yet Read.  The idea being to see if you can come up with some inspiration for a little sketch or doodle from your last week’s reading or just anything else in general. Again, this week my reading has not been brilliant  I’ve read Ellie Quin by Alex Sparrow and just finished Iron Night by M L Brennan (which I loved, review to follow).  Lots of things going on at the moment – not least of which a short break away which I’ll be heading out on shortly.  Follow my trail of breadcrumbs and see if you can guess where – unfortunately I haven’t been able to come up with any fan art this week (skinwalkers – not even going to try and go there!)

😦

Then stop over and check out the lovely Tabitha’s creative endeavours for the week!

So, this week my reading has still mostly been dreadful – still too much going on at the moment!!  I have read Ancillary Justice and also The Slow Regard of Silent things.

We come in peace…’ack, ack, ack’

So, this week my reading has mostly been dreadful – too much going on at the moment!!  I’m reading Ancillary Justice and The City Stained Red but couldn’t come up with anything for those so I’ve gone for an alien – to coincide with Sci-Fi November ’14 and also for a random person with a couple of swords which sort of ties in with Tough Travel’s theme for this week (named weapons – over at the Fantasy Review Barn – come on, this person at least is carrying two swords so it sort of ties in). They’re not terribly inspiring so you should probably check on over to Not Yet Read and see what’s going on there!

A wee change… Fan Art Up became Art it Up.  This is a weekly meme hosted by Tabitha over at Not Yet Read.  The idea being to see if you can come up with some inspiration for a little sketch or doodle from your last week’s reading or just anything else in general. So, this week my reading has consisted of White Fang by Jack London and I’m currently reading The City Stained Red.  Unfortunately, I’ve already tried wolves on here and I’ve not really come up with anything so far for CSR.  So, being the Bonfire Season – by which I mean we have fireworks for two weeks before the 5th November and two weeks after (instead of one day! – not that I’m grumpy at all!!!)  I’ve drawn a Dude Doodle and this week over at the Fantasy Review Barn the topic for Tough Travel is novices – so, I was thinking Harry Potter.  One thing led to another and I didn’t sketch Harry Potter at all.  Oh well! Now go and check out Tabitha – who has the cool sketches and all the ‘things’.  Yep!IMG_0730

Fan Art Foxes..

Fan Art Up is a weekly meme hosted by Tabitha over at Not Yet Read.  The idea being to see if you can come up with some inspiration for a little sketch or doodle from your last week’s reading or just anything else in general. So, this week I’ve been reading about all the creepiness!  Mainly focusing on vampires.  However, I couldn’t come up with a drawing of a vampire in my tiny brain.  Instead I thought I’d try a character from Generation V by M L Brennan – a shapeshifter called Suzume.  I loved this book and I thought Suzume was an amazing character.  The one on the left was my first attempt to try and draw a foxy/sassy character – and also I tried to jot down a fox.  The pencil was my second attempt which I attempted because the others were on lined paper!  My husband didn’t really like the second attempt!  I guess the first one looks a bit more cartoony – but what is the hair about.  The problem is with pen – once you’ve created an outline you’re pretty much stuck with it!  On reflection I don’t think this is how I pictured Suzume – but, at least there’s a scruffy looking little fox!
