Not too bad this month with only two purchases (both have great reviews so can’t wait) and just check out that fantastic cover for Ghosts of Tomorrow:

- Wyntertide by Andrew Caldecott
- Grey Sister by Mark Lawrence
- The Testament of Loki by Joanne M Harris

I’ve completed another one of my SPFBO books: Devil’s Night Dawning – which leaves me three now left to read.

My cover compare this month: Ravencry by Ed McDonald:
It’s difficult to choose between these because I like them both. I’m going to call this one equal.

March : My Month in Review

Backlist books
Unfortunately none this month. I had a lot of review books so couldn’t get to my own reads.
Unfinished series completed:
None this month.
Books Bought:
I’m really looking forward to The Silent Companions and hope to slot that one in regardless of my schedule, similar with the Stuart Turton book which I’ve heard such good things about. Obviously I want to read them all of course but as and when:
- Dark Eden by Chris Beckett
- The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell
- The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
- The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton
Review Books:
- By Fire Above by Robyn Bennis
- Bellewether by Susanna Kearsley
- The Oddling Prince by Nancy Springer
- Cross Her Heart by Sarah Pinborough
- Legendary by Stephanie Gerber
- Apocalypse Nyx by Kameron Hurley
- The Atrocities by Jeremy C Shipp
- The Last Sun by K D Edwards
- The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker
- Temper by Nicky Drayden
That probably looks a tiny bit excessive given that I’m trying to be careful but the dates for these are not all due in the same month.
I’ve completed another two of my SPFBO books: Sufficiently Advanced Magic by Andy Rowe and Tiger Lily by K Bird Lincoln (reviews to follow)
My cover compare this month: Dark Eden by Chris Beckett:
My favourite is the dark cover which I’m actually most familiar with:

February : My Month in Review
February nearly missed me completely it flew by so fast. I had a good reading month though – mainly due to bad weather preventing me from getting out and about to mooch around. None this month – I’m staggered. I think it’s the first month in ages, maybe even years, that I’ve not added at least two or three books – wow, perhaps I’m getting a bit better/less compulsive.
Review Books:
Again – ditto the above. I was determined to go easy with my review requests. I’m hoping to strike more of a balance of review books and my own books so we’ll see how that works out, or, if for that matter, I can resist making requests as often.
I’ve completed another of my SPFBO books: Pilgrimage to Skara by Jonathan S Pembroke and I’ve chosen my next book (post to follow shortly:

My cover compare this month: Mister Tender’s Girl by Carter Wilson
January : My Month in Review
This is my first month in review for 2018 – also, some of these lists look a bit longer than usual but that’s because I didn’t post a month in review for December 2017 so this doubles up. I’ve had a good month with plenty of excellent books – guess I’ve been quite lucky. We’ve had a few mishaps (chunks of ceiling falling down and the like) but it all just adds to the rich texture of life doesn’t it! Anyway, my month in covers is here if you’d like to check out their loveliness. My Month in Covers

My cover compare this month:
The Hunger by Alma Katsu – which sounds chilling to say the least:
It’s difficult to choose isn’t it – one is very dark and foreboding, not to mention barren and rather lonely looking. The other looks bitterly cold and chilling in a terrifying sense with all the warnings. My favourite is:

Hope you’ve all had a great start to 2018. Let me know what plans you have for your reading and blogging and feel free to share a link if you like.
November : My Month in Review

Tonight is a supermoon. Tried to get a good shot of it but it didn’t work out too well so apologies. This month has been good. I’m speeding ahead with my SPFBO books – I should have my winner picked out very soon. I’ve managed to read 9 books this month. Currently reading Cruel Prince by Holly Black which has started very well. And, in other news I seem to have suddenly become addicted to Pokemon Go – why? Just why – I resisted it all this time but then….
Books read:
- The Nine by Tracy Townsend
- Artemis by Andy Weir
- The City of Brass (The Daevabad Trilogy #1) by S.A. Chakraborty
- The Naturalist by Andrew Mayne
- Kill Creek by Scott Thomas
- The Emerald Circus by Jane Yolen
- The Saga of Dirt and Poncho
- Envy of Angels by Matt Wallace
- War Witch by Layla Nash
As you can see, a few reviews yet to follow.
What’ve you been reading??
My covers are here.
Backlist books
None this month.
Unfinished series completed:
None this month.
Books Bought: (I may have gone a little bit over the top again this month, but in my defence these books were, mostly, in a too-good-to-be-true sale – never look a gift horse in the mouth and anyway, no need to defend buying books I always think):
- Runemarks by Joanne Harris
- Horns by Joe Hill
- Occupy Me by Tricia Sullivan
- Retribution Falls by Chris Wooding
- Red Queen by Christina Henry
- Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
- The Providence of Fire by Brian Staveley
- The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge
- The Queen of Blood by Sarah Beth Durst
- Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson
- Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King
Okay – so I do feel a bit sheepish looking at all those books – but I couldn’t help it and the last two were audio credits. Feast your eyes on these lovelies.
