I’m trying to get back into the habit of doing a round-up of the week just completed and also take a look at my plans for the forthcoming week. I rather got out of the habit of doing so but I would like to reinstate this type of post as I feel it keeps me on track. So, I’m linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s Caffeinated Reviewer. Without further ado:
Books read this week:
Is everyone else finding that time is racing. I don’t seem to have enough time in the day at all. Anyway, this week I managed to complete The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas. I’ve continued listening to Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff (about 13 hours left – yes, this is a long book) and I’ve also read a Haunting in the Arctic by CJ Cooke. So, I am making good progress with the reads I’m trying to complete. I’ve now started the Mystery Guest by Nita Prose.
Complete Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. Read The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose. Hopefully start Voyage of the Damned by Frances White.

I’ve managed to complete all my November reads and catch up with some October carryovers. This week I completed What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez. I made progress with Empire Vampire and I’ve almost finished The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas.

I’ve been enjoying my reading this week. I finished The Ghosts of Beatrice Bird by Louisa Morgan which was lovely. I’ve continued listing to Jay Kristoff’s Empire of the Vampire, I’ve still got about 17 hours left – this is a long book! I also read Good Girls Don’t Die by Christina Henry and I’m a third of the way into What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez which, when complete, means I’m all up to date with my November review books.
Complete What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez. I’m then going to pick up one of the SPFBO Finalists which will make a start on the second stage of the competition.

This week I’ve been concentrating on trying to put things in order on the outside of the house, lots of chopping back in the garden, clearing leaves and looking for any other sorts of problems. Trying to get weather tight really. It’s hard work to be honest but I’ve managed to read The Reformatory by Tananarive Due – which was brilliant, difficult to read and quite horrifying, but absolutely absorbing and impossible to put down. I’ve also made a good start on The Ghosts of Beatrice Bird by Louisa Morgan, and, with all the gardening and outside work I also started listening to Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff – about a quarter of the way in so far. I was approved recently for book 2 so wanted to tuck the first book under my belt.

Books read this week:
And another week goes flying by. We’ve had a lovely time this week. Went away for a couple of days with friends which was a great deal of fun. It did mean my reading wasn’t quite as I expected although I did manage to complete Elodie Harper’s Temple of Fortuna which was excellent, and also I’m thinking that there may yet be more in store – one can but hope.

The Reformatory by Tananarive Due is my next read – I’ve seen some really positive reviews for this so very excited to pick it up and it’s one of the October books that I’m catching up with. Then left on my list for November are What the River Knows by Isabel Ibañez, Good Girls Don’t Die by Christina Henry and The Ghosts of Beatrice Bird by Louisa Morgan. Has anybody read any of these – which one should I pick up first.
