Today I’m posting my Weekly Wrap Up and II’m linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s Caffeinated Reviewer. Without further ado:
Books read this week:
I’m slowly catching back up. Doing some blog hopping and writing a couple of reviews. I’ve done a lot of reading this week, mainly because I reached the conclusion that the only way my leg is going to get better is if I stop jumping up and down doing things. So, much sitting and reading. The house is an utter pigsty. This week I completed The Trouble with Mrs Montgomery Hurst by Katie Lumsden which I really enjoyed. If you want an Austenish type story in your life then give it a try. I did pick up The Undermining of Twyla and Frank but for now I’ve set that to one side. Maybe I’ll give it another go in a few weeks. I’m currently reading The Wilds by Sarah Pearse but it’s early days. I’ve also started A Poisoner’s Tale by Cathryn Kemp and so far so good. I completed The Drowning House by Cherie Priest. I enjoyed this but it’s not my favourite by the author. I read The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst which is a lovely story that I couldn’t resist falling for. Finally I read Bless Your Heart by Lindy Ryan which was an odd little number that I had a good time blasting through.
Next Week’s Reads:
I’d like to complete The Wilds and A Poisoner’s Tale (hopefully within July). I still have one review book left for July but I also have quite a few on my shelves for August. I think I’ll play it by ear and hope to stay on track. I will say that I have a Kingfisher, a James SA Corey and a Silvia Moreno Garcia coming up very soon which I’m very excited to dive into.

So, I’ve been very absent from the blog. I managed to strain a muscle in my leg and it’s been a flipping nuisance and has stolen my mojo for everything. Anyway, I’ve still tucked some reading under my belt and have a few reviews due. I read and really loved The Moonlight Market by Joanne Harris. I also completed my second batch of SPFBO books reading 25% of them all. I’ll be posting my third batch soon. I also read Love Letters To A Serial Killer by Tasha Coryell. What an unusual read this was. Finally, I’ve made a good start on The Trouble With Mrs Montgomery Hurst by Katie Lumsden which I’m thoroughly enjoying.

Bookforager‘s Picture Prompt book bingo
This month I’m ticking another book off my Picture Prompt bingo card. The picture with the harp. I’m using Winter Lost by Patricia Briggs. This involves the search for a magical item, a lyre – but this item changes and is sometimes referred to as a harp.

I’m trying to get back into the habit of doing a round-up of the week just completed and also take a look at my plans for the forthcoming week. I rather got out of the habit of doing so but I would like to reinstate this type of post as I feel it keeps me on track. So, I’m linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s Caffeinated Reviewer. Without further ado:
Books read this week:
What a nuisance week. In reading terms all has been good, but, my laptop is playing up. Basically, some of the keys are sticking, in particular the spacebar, so when I’m typing reviews or trying to comment on other posts, or reply to comments, therearenospacesinanentiresentenceorparagraph (which is intensely annoying and means everything takes so much longer. To be fair, my laptop is old. I think I’m going to have to buy a new one. Deep joy. Anyway, my reading. I completed Two SIdes To Every Murder by Danielle Valentine which I really enjoyed, maybe not quite as much as Delicate Condition but I definitely had fun. I picked up and tore through The Daughters’ War by Christopher Buehlman. I had high expectations for this and these were surpassed. I loved it. I’ve also completed The Cautious Traveller’s Guide to the Wastelands by Sarah Brooks, which was good, but at the same time quite slow in terms of pacing. I’ve read 25% of two of my SPFBO books and started my third.
I have one more review book to complete in June. I’d like to check out all five of the SPFBO books in my first batch, and, in an ideal world I should also to read a backlist book.

We’re back from Granada. We had a fantastic time. It’s a lovely city. We had great weather, the people are so friendly and there was plenty of wine and tapas. Highly recommended. Obviously my reading and blogging have been a little slower so I’m planning on catching up this week, fingers crossed. In reading news. I read Bitter Waters by Vivian Shaw. I also read We Used To Live Here by Marcus Kliewer (which was very chilling) and I’ve made a start on Two SIdes To Every Murder by Danielle Valentine. I’ve also made a start on my first batch of SPFBO books.
