March: My Month in Review

‘Take some more tea, the March Hare said to Alice’
March was definitely as mad as a March Hare – not to mention it flew by. April Fool’s day is already on the way out!! Anyway, I had a lovely March with lots of socialising, quite a lot of work (boo) and reading. I hope your March was a good one and here’s my month in review:

Backlist books
None this month. I had quite a lot of review books the past two months (excuses, excuses!) but I’m hopeful, ever hopeful, of getting some of my older books flying off the shelves.
Unfinished series completed:
None this month – it seems to me that each month I increase my unfinished series rather than decrease them (poomp). I’ve decided I have a mental block (probably a few tbh!) I shall overcome it.
Books Bought: (with links to Goodreads synopsis)
- An Artificial Night (No.3 Toby Daye series) by Seanan McGuire – because, another readalong (details to follow!)
- In the Labyrinth of Drakes by Marie Brennan – OMG – this book – I need it in my life yesterday.
- The Obelisk Gates by N K Jemisin – preordered. Not read book 1 yet but I know it’s going to be good and now no waiting!
- The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu and Ken Liu
- Kushiel’s Justice by Jacqueline Carey – readalong book!
- Bald New World by Peter Tieryas – because US of Japan was SO GOOD
- Enchantress by James Maxwell
- The Hunt (Atlanta Burns No.2) by Chuck Wendig – loved the first – had to have this.
I admit I went a bit silly this month BUT in my defence I had gift vouchers – and it would be rude not to spend them and look at the lovelies.

Cover Spotlight : just going with a single cover for the spotlight this month because I love these covers:

UK or US cover: The UK one this time – the colour and vibrancy – this book practically begs, nay screams, to be read:
Events:
Backlist Backburn is an end of month event organised by Lisa at Tenacious Reader. If you’ve caught up on any of your backlist then call over and link up. I find this a good incentive to dust off some of my books! I’ve not done very well recently but that’s because I overfaced myself a little I think!
Top Ten Tuesday at The Broke and Bookish (every Tuesday)
Waiting on Wednesday is an event hosted by Breaking the Spine where every week we get to shine the spotlight on a book that we’re looking forward to.
The Friday Face off by Books by Proxy
Announced two readalongs for March:
- Kushiel’s Justice by Jacqueline Carey – week Nos 1 and 2 completed
