For the theme this week I’ve chosen: Storm Front by Jim Butcher (#The Dresden Files). (I confess I struggled with this theme!)

I think it suits the theme and the weather in the background looks very gloomy to say the least.

4th November – Nomad is an island – a cover with a wanderer
You may have seen on recent posts that November is Sci Fi 2016 which is an event that celebrates all things sci fi. So, I’m using my weekly memes to highlight sci fi novels. For the theme this week I’ve chosen: I am Legend by Richard Matheson. This book is perfect for this week’s theme because of course the main character really is by himself!

I had to go with the scary cover! I just couldn’t help it – even though it doesn’t necessarily fit in with the theme!

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. ‘There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home: a cover with a house/abandoned house’
Of course, Halloween is fast approaching, the nights are drawing in and so what better book to go than with Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot.
There are some good covers here and different things that I like about all of them (oh and by the way – there are a heck of a lot more covers – but I decided to restrain myself). I actually really like the bottom row first cover, the simplicity and sensuality but I really don’t feel it quite suits the book somehow.
My winner is, because it really does fit for me, I love the psychedelic colour, the house with the roots growing down and the huge ass name – this really does scream King doesn’t it:

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. Each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. I missed the last two weeks so I’ve done a quick catch up :
23rd Sept: Wee, sleekit, cow’rin, timorous beastie – A cover with a beast or beasts.
I have to go for the second cover with this one – although I think the first one is quite chilling somehow. The second cover gives me a laugh out loud pantomime moment – I want to shout out to the girl ‘it’s behind you!’
30th Sept: This solitary tree! A living thing – a cover with a tree or trees.
This one is more difficult. I actually want to go for the second cover because this is what most of the books that I own by Gaiman are styled like – and I do like this style. I also like the blue cover with the tree – and I don’t think I’d seen that cover before. Difficult to choose between those two for me.
This week’s theme:
