Today I’m returning to the  Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy).  I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner.  This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers.  Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). . So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite.  If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.

This week I’m going back a few years to a book set in Russia that brings to us creatures of legend – the voordalak,  Twelve, (The Danilov Quintet #1) by Jasper Kent.

Here are the covers:

My book this week is a book due out in 2024.  Everyone Who Can Forgive Me is Dead by Jenny Hollander.  I love the sound of this one.

Here are the covers

I really like the colours of the blue cover but this week my favourite is:

Everyone2

I like the way the word ‘dead’ is a different colour and it has a feel of something different, sitting there atop that city skyscape.

My book this week is the first-ever authorized novel to return to the world of Shirley Jackson’s  The Haunting of Hill House.  A Haunting on the Hill by Elizabeth Hand.  I can’t wait to tuck into this one.

Here are the covers

My book this week is a book that I will be reading soon, Edenville by Sam Rebelein.  I’m looking forward to picking this one up very soon.  Here are the covers – how crazy are these:

I’m not sure I can choose a favourite this week.  These are great, don’t they make you want to pick this up – a house hidden in a flower with insects crawling over it – or, your everyday gigantic spider seemingly consuming a house!

Which is your favourite?

My book this week is the second in series due out in January 2024.  I adored Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett and so I’m absolutely buzzing about the second book Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands.  Here are the covers:

To be honest I really like both covers but if pressed I’d probably go for:
