I’m trying to post a wrap up for the end of each month, mainly to help me to keep track of my reading and at the same time look at what I’m intending to read during the month ahead (inspired by Books Bones and Buffy’s What’s on My Plate.
Today’s post will be a dual post covering my weekly and monthly wrap up. How are we even in March already – it’s crazy. My February reading has been okay, particularly as it’s a short month. I’m over my cold thankfully and I’ve caught up with quite a few reviews, comments and blog hopping. So feeling quite positive. This month I managed to complete 10 books. I still have a couple of February books to complete – but I did give both a try and for some reason we just weren’t getting on so I’ve put them aside for now. One of the ten was one of my March books and I’ll be reviewing that on Monday (all going well – Once Was Willem).
My Weekly Wrap Up:
Books read:
- Greenteeby by Molly O’Neill
- 1 x SPFBO
- Once Was Willem by MR Carey
Next weeks reads:
- Clockwork Boys by T Kingfisher

This seems like a possibility – fingers crossed.
You can find the SPFBO finalists here.

Bookforager‘s Picture Prompt book bingo. I’ve completed four books so far – my progress update is here.
Total books read so far this year: 17
How did you get on during Feburary? Have you read any of these books yet?

Books read this week:
I think I’ve made my own personal history this week by not reading a single book. Well, to be fair, I’m pretty sure that’s happened before from time to time but I can’t remember when that last happened. Which isn’t to say that I’m not enjoying my current read, more that I’ve been busy with other things. I’m about 60% into The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso so hopefully I’ll finish this tomorrow, I’m enjoying it and looking forward to seeing how things play out. In blogging I’ve caught up with comments and been blog hopping too. I’ve also nearly caught up with reviews and I’m hoping to get fully updated this week, fingers crossed for that – although I’ve probably just doomed myself to failure.
Next Week’s Reads:
Complete The Last Hour Between Worlds and then pick up Titanchild by Jen Williams. I’ve also picked up the audio book for the Fury of the Gods so hopefully I’m going to start reading and listening soon.

That’s it for me this week, what have you been up to, any good books to shout out about. Let me know.

Books read this week:
I’ve struggled a bit this week. Although I’ve made really good progress on blog hopping and catching up with comments. I’ve read and loved one of my review books, the conclusion to Sarah Pinborough’s Tales From the Kingdoms series (I think it’s the conclusion, it certainly reads like a traditional fairytale ending). I adore this series of fairytales reimagined, they’re wickedly good fun. On the other hand I’m reading the Courting of Bristol Keats by Mary E Pearson. I was really hooked to this when it started. The writing is so lovely. But, I can’t deny that my progress is very slow, there’s something about it that feels over indulgent and drawn out, and it just feels so familiar. Plus, the fae, they’ve morphed into normal everyday humans. It doesn’t feel like a fae world, it feels more like a training academy with a bit of magic. Anyway, that probably sounds very negative which isn’t my intention but I am on the verge of DNF’ing this – the only thing atm that’s keeping me going is that I’ve already read 50% which feels like such a commitment that I really ought to finish – I’ll just have to read this little by little and pick up other books at the same time.
Next Week’s Reads:
I didn’t really make progress with Fury of the Gods – mainly because I was trying to plough through Bristol Keats. I’ll hopefully be getting back to that this week. Also I still have The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso to start, and, I was approved for Jen Williams Titanchild – which is the conclusion to her talon duology. I’m really looking forward to that.

Books read this week:
This hasn’t been a bad week. I’ve read two of my books and also posted three reviews, plus I’ve started some blog hopping which i’ll hopefully catch up with this week. We are definitely still adjusting to our language lessons, we’re out now two nights in the week, plus travel time and this is definitely having an impact on everything because there’s also a constant stream of homework – I feel like a teenager! I’m enjoying the challenge though although I would point out that I’m not a natural when it comes to picking up different languages, I really have to work hard at it. This week I read You All Die Tonight by Simon Kernick and also Ink Ribbon Red by Alex Pavesi. As planned last week I also started Fury of the Gods by John Gwynne.
Next Week’s Reads:
This week I’m hoping to continue with The Fury of the Gods. I have three November books to pick up which are:

Books read this week:
So, I missed last week’s update, things just becoming chaotic, so this week I’ll be recapping two weeks instead of one. To be honest my reading has been pretty dreadful for some reason, I’ve not been getting really absorbed and keep putting books to one side. Hopefully this improves. For example, I put The Haunting of Moscow House by Olesya Salnikova Gilmore to one side for now. I have read Gorse by Sam K Horton which I loved and already reviewed. I also completed The Ravening by Daniel Church – this one didn’t work for me unfortunately. I also just completed The Glassmaker by Tracy Chevalier which was very well executed and I’ll be reviewing soon..
Next Week’s Reads:
I’ve started reading The Wilding by Ian McDonald and I’d like to pick up one of my October reads. Either The Bog Wife by Kay Chronister or The Coven by Harper L Woods. I have a pretty busy month for October and in fact have some more SPFBO books to read passed over to me by the Critiquing Chemist.
