Countdown to 2026: Day 7 – Christmas Tree –  a winter read

Once again I am counting down to the New Year, as with the previous years I shall be highlighting at least one book per day to fit the prompt on that given day.  The main aim for this countdown is to highlight some of my reads during the past year and to shine the spotlight on them once again (although some of the prompts relate to forthcoming reads).

Today is Day 7 of the countdown to 2026 and a list of prompts can be found here if you wish to join me in counting down to 2026 and casting a spotlight on some of your favourite books.

Today’s Prompt : Christmas Tree –  a winter read:

Ring the Bells by CK McDonnell (Stranger Times #5)

Again, I’m not sure I’ll ever have quite so fitting a book for the prompt involved.  I absolutely love this series and to date it gets better and better.  Of course, I’ve fallen in love with the characters and so far every instalment has been simply excellent.

Tomorrow’s prompt: Baubles – these add some colour, a very colourful and striking cover

Today is day 7 of my countdown to 2024.  Using a series of prompts each day I will post a book title that I believe fits the prompt.  The aim is to highlight as many books as possible that I read from 2023 and shine the spotlight on them once again (although for some prompts I will be looking at future reads).  A list of prompts can be found here if you wish to join me in counting down to 2024.

Today’s prompt: Christmas Tree –  a winter read

A haunting

A Haunting in the Arctic by CJ Cooke.  This is a darkly atmospheric, cold and chilling read – my review will be up soon.

Countdown to 2023 – Day 7 ‘Christmas Tree’ (24 days remaining)

IMG_8687-1

Today is day 7 of my countdown to 2023.  Today’s prompt is ‘Christmas Tree’ and I’ve chosen a book with a gothic vibe because it’s a style I love to read at this time of the year and so feels very traditional to me.  The prompts can be found here if you want to join in.  I’m hoping to use mostly books read this year.  Let’s begin:

CHRISTMAS TREE (a traditional winter read)

The Haunting of Las Lagrimas by WM Cleese is a dark and eerie tale that gave me Haunting of Hill House or the Woman in Black type vibes.

Tomorrow: Baubles – these add some colour, a very colourful and striking cover
