Books read this week:
I’m starting to pick up my reading a little bit but, I would say that I’m still not up to my usual weekly reading just yet. Probably just too many things going on. I’ve pressed on reading two SPFBO books, still early days but I’m making progress. And I read and enjoyed Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney. I’ve now picked up and am almost half way through The House of Frost and Feathers by Lauren Wiesebron and I’m enjoying it. It isn’t a particularly fast or explosive read but I’m enjoying the writing.
Once I complete The House of Frost and Feathers – Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix is my last review book for January so I’m hoping to complete both SPFBO books, read a Backlist book and maybe pick up one or two of my February review books – but that does sound a bit ambitious so we’ll see.

That’s it for me this week, what have you been up to, any good books to shout out about. Let me know.

Books read this week:
Happy New Year everyone. Hope you’ve all got off to a great start for 2025. This is my first Sunday post so let’s take a look at what’s been going on. I was hoping to complete The Coven by Harper L Woods but I ended up setting this to one side. What I then picked up and completed quite quickly was one of my January review books, Daughter of Chaos by A S Webb, which was an entertaining and quick read. I’ve also made a good start on one of my SPFBO books. I have only two reviews left to catch up with to be fully uptodate and I’ve also been doing some blog hopping to see what you’ve all been up to.
I’m going to continue with my SPFBO book and also pick up one of the following:
- Witchcraft for Wayward Girls by Grady Hendrix
- Beautiful Ugly by Alice Feeney
- The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door by HG Parry
- The Last One At the Wedding by Jason Rekulak
- The Queen by Nick Cutter
Outstanding Reviews
- Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
- Daughter of Chaos by A S Webb
That’s it for me this week, what have you been up to, any good books to shout out about. Let me know.

Books read this week:
I missed my weekly update last Sunday and have also been very quiet on the blog, apart from my Countdown to 2025 posts. Put simply we’ve been so busy. Firstly, it was my birthday and I had a surprise party – it literally was a surprise, I simply can’t believe that so many people managed to keep it a secret. Anyway, it was absolutely lovely with family coming to stay but also very busy. Followed by which my husband has now caught the usual seasonal bug and I’m trying very hard not to catch it too. Long story short – it’s been a chaotic couple of weeks. I don’t feel like I’m on top of anything, but I have enjoyed myself.
With all the partying and the run up to Christmas my reading has definitely taken a hit. I have read Strange Beasts by Susan J Morris and I’m currently reading The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door by HG Parry which I’m very much enjoying.
Next Week’s Reads:
Complete the Scholar and the Last Faerie Door and hopefully pick up one of these little beauties:

Books read this week:
I’m very happy to say that I read one of my books this week and started a second. I’ve been catching up with reviews and blog hopping, I’m uptodate with comments, almost, and I’ve also started my Countdown to 2025. So, my reading might not be as strong as in past months but I’m making headway. Now, I just need to see if I can fit in a few more books before year end. This week I completed The Last Hour Between Worlds by Melissa Caruso. Review coming for that soon. I also started Strange Beasts by Susan J Morris – I suspect this will be a quick read, fingers crossed.
Next Week’s Reads:
Complete Strange Beasts. Then the skies the limits.
