I’m trying to get back into the habit of doing a round-up of the week just completed and also take a look at my plans for the forthcoming week. I rather got out of the habit of doing this but I would like to reinstate this type of post as I feel it keeps me on track. So, I’m linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s Caffeinated Reviewer. Without further ado:
Do you ever have that feeling that you’re taking two steps forward then one step back? Last week was a little like that for me. I’m trying to forge ahead with my review and SPFBO books then I had an unexpected accident (basically my dog charged into me in his excitement and hurt my arm) which then set me back again! Oh well, nothing broken and now time to move on. This week I read Sundial by Catriona Ward and my review for that will be posted soon. I’ve also read about a quarter of Last Exit by Max Gladstone – very unusual this one, I’m liking it but it feels like I’m making very slow progress for some reason.
Books read this week:

Next Week’s Reads:
I’m hoping to finish Last Exit by Max Gladstone then start another of my SPFBO finalists and make a start on The City of Dusk by Tara Sim.
- Gallant by VE Schwab

Last week I mentioned that I was pressing on with my SPFBO finalists and those plans managed to stay on track. I completed the book I was reading and also managed to fit in another SPFBO book which means I’m now at the halfway point. In review books I read The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley which I really enjoyed and already reviewed earlier this week. I also read Gallant by VE Schwab and my review for that one shall be posted soon. I do have some catching up to do. I’ve not been responding to comments and I’ve not been keeping up with my buddy read or blog hopping – I thought I had to push on with my SPFBO and make some headway and also I can’t deny that recent ‘world events’ have definitely had a very negative impact. I won’t go into that on here though.

Next Week’s Reads:
I shall of course be starting another SPFBO book. I’ve started Sundial by Catriona Ward and I’m also hoping to pick up Last Exit by Max Gladstone.
- The Hemlock Cure by Joanne Burn
- The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley

So this week I’ve been continuing with my SPFBO book which I’m hoping to finish soon so I can perhaps squeeze another of the finalists in before the end of February – this would put me at the halfway point. I also finished The Justice of Kings which I had a very good time with, I read The Hemlock Cure by Joanne Burn and I picked up The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley which I’ve almost completed.
Books read this week:
Next Week’s Reads:
Complete The Paris Apartment and another SPFBO book. I also want to read the next chapters of my buddy read which I fell behind with this past week. Then I’m hoping to start Gallant by VE Schwab.
- This Charming Man (The Stranger Times #2) by CK McDonnell
- The Justice of Kings (Empire of the Wolf#1) by Richard Swan

This week I’ve started catching up with blog hopping and I’ve been reading three books, one for SPFBO, one a readalong with my good reading buddy and one a review book. I managed to finish This Charming Man by CK McDonnell which was a good deal of fun. I also started The Justice of Kings by Richard Swan – I’m loving this book, I’m about two-thirds into this so suspect I’ll finish it tonight (but you never know, the best laid plans, etc).

Next Week’s Reads:
I’m aiming to complete The Justice of Kings. Hopefully complete my SPFBO book and start one of the others. I will also continue with my buddy read which will take me to 75%. All going well I might make a start on The Hemlock Cure by Joanne Burn

This week my reading has not been too good. Basically, we have family visiting which is just wonderful but does impact on reading and blogging. I managed to finish Echo by Thomas Olde Heuvelt – this is an interesting story that gets off to a scary start. I’d say it’s not a fast read and I think it was a little chunkier than I expected but it’s definitely got some very creepy elements.
Books read this week:

Next Week’s Reads:
I’m going to pick up This Charming Man by CK McDonnell which is the second book in the Stranger Times series. I had a fantastic time reading the first book and can’t wait to pick this one up. I’m going to leave it at just the one and see what else happens.
