Booking Ahead/Weekly Wrap Up

Sunday Post

I’m trying to get back into the habit of doing a round-up of the week just completed and also take a look at my plans for the forthcoming week.  I rather got out of the habit of doing so but I would like to reinstate this type of post as I feel it keeps me on track.  So, I’m linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s  Caffeinated Reviewer.  Without further ado:

Books read this week:

This week has been a bit less of a blogging and reading week.  I’m still listening to Infinity Gate by MR Carey, I’m struggling a bit with this one but I want to persevere.  I completed another SPFBO finalist and I’ve also read Maude Horton’s Glorious Revenge.  I also managed to squeeze in three reviews.

Books read this week:

Woah people, I’ve been on a mission this week.  I’ve been working hard and been using the opportunity to listen to some audio – this has gone really well.  I completed Relight My Fire by CK McDonnell which I confess – was brilliant.  I also completed the audio version of September House  – another great read, seriously.  So, on top of that – and get ready for this because I’ve surprised myself – I listened to two further audio books, The Heiress by Rachel Hawkins and also What Moves the Dead by T Kingfisher which is a reimagining of Poe’s House of Usher, what can I say, they were both great so I was always keen to get back on board.  And, I read another of my SPFBO books.  Phew.  I don’t know what came over me.  I’ve posted a couple of reviews this week but think I’ll have to step it up next week to catch up a bit.   I’ve also started a new audio book – Infinity gate by MR Carey, I love this author, but, I’m not going to lie, this feels very hard sci-fi at the moment so I don’t know whether we’re going to be compatible or not.  I’ve also picked up another SPFBO book – hoping to tuck two under my belt this month.

Complete my current SPFBO book and also, fingers crossed, Infinity Gate, then maybe one of my February review books.

Books read this week:

I’ve had a good week in reading this past week.  I completed Miss Austen Investigates, the Hapless Milliner by Jessica Bull, I then picked up and pretty much breezed through The City of Stardust by Georgia Summers and I’ve made a start on Relight My Fire by CK McDonnell.  I’m only about 10% into this one at the moment but I’m loving it already and feel totally committed – this will be a quick read.  I’ve also started the audio for September House and this is going really well – now this is what you call a haunted house!  Of course, the more you read the further you seem to get behind with actual reviews – I have posted a couple of reviews this week but I might have to step that up to three a week to catch up.  In SPFBO news I will be starting my second book this week.

Books read this week:

This past week, I’ve still been quite busy with friends and family so slightly less reading time.  I have managed to start my reviews and will be trying to catch up some more this week also.  I finished Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett and I picked up Miss Austen Investigates, the Hapless Milliner by Jessica Bull and I’m about a third of the way into this one.

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone.  Today was the last day of my Countdown to 2024 in which I posted a book that I’m really keen to pick up in 2024.  In terms of reading.  I think (I hope) to complete my audio version of Jay Kristoff’s Empire of the Vampire.  I also completed Voyage of the Damned which was really good.  On top of that I picked up and practically dashed through Black Sheep by Rachel Harrison (so good) and I’ve made a great start on Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett (which is also so far excellent).  I do have a few reviews to catch up with so will be making a start on them as soon as I’ve posted my ‘Best Of’ list and my Good Intentions Book Tag.  I will also be posting a SPFBO update soon.
