Better Late Than Never: Booking Ahead/Weekly Wrap Up

Sunday Post

Today I’m posting my Weekly Wrap Up and II’m linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s  Caffeinated Reviewer.  Without further ado:

Books read this week:

So, I’ve been very absent from the blog.  I managed to strain a muscle in my leg and it’s been a flipping nuisance and has stolen my mojo for everything.  Anyway, I’ve still tucked some reading under my belt and  have a few reviews due.  I read and really loved The Moonlight Market by Joanne Harris. I also completed   my second batch of SPFBO books reading 25% of them all.  I’ll be  posting my third batch soon.  I also read Love Letters To A Serial Killer by Tasha Coryell.  What an unusual read this was.  Finally, I’ve  made a good start on The Trouble With Mrs Montgomery Hurst by Katie Lumsden which I’m thoroughly enjoying.

Sunday Post/Weekly Wrap Up

Sunday Post

I’m trying to get back into the habit of doing a round-up of the week just completed and also take a look at my plans for the forthcoming week.  I rather got out of the habit of doing so but I would like to reinstate this type of post as I feel it keeps me on track.  So, I’m linking up to The Sunday Post over at Kimberly’s  Caffeinated Reviewer.  Without further ado:

Books read this week:

What a nuisance week.  In reading terms all has been good, but, my laptop is playing up.  Basically, some of the keys are sticking, in particular the spacebar, so when I’m typing reviews or trying to comment on other posts, or reply to comments, therearenospacesinanentiresentenceorparagraph (which is intensely annoying and means everything takes so much longer. To be fair, my laptop is old.  I think I’m going to have to buy a new one.  Deep joy. Anyway, my reading.   I completed Two SIdes To Every Murder by Danielle Valentine  which I really enjoyed, maybe not quite as much as Delicate Condition but I definitely had fun.  I picked up and tore through The Daughters’ War by Christopher Buehlman. I had high expectations for this and these were surpassed.  I loved it. I’ve also completed The Cautious Traveller’s Guide to the Wastelands by Sarah Brooks, which was good, but at the same time quite slow in terms of pacing.   I’ve read 25% of two of my SPFBO books and started my third.

Next Week’s Reads:

  1. Bitter Waters by Vivian Shaw
  2. We Used to Live Here by Marcus Kliewer

This week has been very warm and I’ve felt really tired – could be the heat I suppose – but I’ve been incredibly lethargic.  In reading I’ve read Hera by Jennifer Saint and Small Town Horror by Ronald Malfi.  I’ve also just started Lucy Foley’s Midnight Feast.  SPFBO X officially started at the beginning of the month and I’ll be posting a short introductory post shortly.

Next Week’s Reads:

  1. Elusive by Genevieve Cogman
  2. Hell for Hire by Rachel Aaron
  3. Hera by Jennifer Saint

Books read this week:

This week seems to have flown by.  I can’t even pin down what I’ve been up to it all feels like a blur.  In reading, I completed Hell for Hire by Rachel Aaron.  I can see myself being very easily pulled into this world. I also read Elusive by Genevieve Cogman (the second in her Scarlet Revolution series).  This was good and it has left us with a clear direction for what comes next (assuming there are more books planned).  I’ve just started Hera by Jennifer Saint.

  1. Moonstone by Laura Purcell
  2. Scarlet by Genevieve Cogman

Books read this week:

Unfortunately I’ve been rather poorly for the past few days.  I can only think I have food poisoning but no idea where from.  I’ve been so exhausted and achy and unable to eat.  I have managed a little reading.  I completed The Silence Factory by Bridget Collins.  I also read The House That Horror Built by Christina Henry.  In other news SPFBOX has now started and books are being allocated.  I haven’t managed to look at them yet but hopefully the next couple of days I’ll be feeling better.

  1. You Are Here by David Nicholls
  2. The Malevolent Seven by Sebastien De Castell
