Today is day 24 of my countdown to 2024. Using a series of prompts each day I will post a book title that I believe fits the prompt. The aim is to highlight as many books as possible that I read from 2023 and shine the spotlight on them once again (although for some prompts I will be looking at future reads). A list of prompts can be found here if you wish to join me in counting down to 2024.
Today’s prompt: One of your most anticipated books for 2023
For today’s prompt I’ve chosen The Book That Wouldn’t Burn by Mark Lawrence. An absolutely fantastic start to a series – don’t take my word for it – buy a copy and give it a read.

Today I’m returning to the Friday Face Off, originally created by Books by Proxy). I’ve missed these for the past few months and so would like to get back to comparing covers (and hopefully I will be updating this page with a new banner. This is an opportunity to look at a book of your choice and shine the spotlight on the covers. Of course this only works for those books that have alternative covers (although sometimes I use this to look at a series of books to choose a favourite). . So, if you have a book that has alternative covers, highlight them and choose your favourite. If you’re taking part it would be great if you leave a link so I can take a look at what you’ve chosen.
This week my book is The Tainted Cup, the first in the Shadow of the Leviathan series by Robert Jackson Bennett. I can’t wait for this one. Two covers to look at:
My favourite:
Well, it’s difficult because I actually really like both of these covers. So I don’t want to make a choice, but, if pushed, this cover fascinates me:
Which is your favourite?
Join me next week in highlighting one of your reads with different covers.

Today’s prompt:Santa’s Snack – a book that was a ‘light read’ between heavier books.
For today’s prompt I’ve gone for a cosy romantasy which, although isn’t usually my style I really enjoyed. It also happens to be my chosen finalist in this year’s SPFBO competition. A Rival Most Vial by RK Ashwick.
