#SPFBO Cover Competition – Final Three
As you may be aware if you read this blog the Self Published Fantasy Blog Off Competition is about to start. The first stage is for all the blogs taking part to choose their three favourite covers from the batch of books they’ve been allocated. The details and other entries can all be found here – take the time to go and check out the other covers. There are some absolute stunners and my full list of books can be found here.
So, I needed to decide upon my three choices for the cover competition. I can’t deny that I had a really difficult time choosing and had to narrow it down in the first instance to 7 possibilities before making that final choice. Without further ado my three finalists are :
And the other covers that really stood out for me and made the first cut to semi finalist were:
Which are your favourites or do you agree with my choices?
And, finally, good luck to everyone in the cover competition and SPFBO5.
Awesome choices Lynn! I probably would have gone with these as well. Glad to see Benedict in the cover contest again. Never Die is awesome as well and one of the main reasons I accepted a review request for The Gates of Golorath was the stunning cover. I can’t wait to find out what you’ll think of your lot. You’ve got some crazy good books there this year!
I know. I feel so lucky with this bunch of books and authors. But the covers were so difficult to choose. I just had to finally pick three and go with it because I changed my mind so many times already. In fact that’s why I highlighted some of the other covers just to show how tough it was. But, the competition is going to be really tough this year. The other covers put forward by everyone are gorgeous too. So difficult to choose three!
Love these covers! Never Die is a book I’ve seen floating around for a while, and I love how professionally done the cover is. It’s by far my favorite. (Actually I’m surprised it’s in this competition!) My second favorite is The Lore of Prometheus, very nicely done and it doesn’t look self published at all 😉
I really like the Never Die cover – and Lore of Prometheus – it was in my top six.
Lynn 😀
Oh my favs are Never Die (the font reminds me of Kings of the Wyld and I love the color tones) and the Lore* of Prometheus (can’t make out that L word, but it’s the Prometheus book).
Yep, I really struggled, I wanted Lore Of Prometheus in my list but I had only three spots.
Lynn 😀
I can see why you had so much trouble choosing. These are all superb, even the 4 runner-ups!
I know – I change my mind about 20 times and then just posted because it was never going to get any easier.
Lynn 😀
Great choices, You have an amazing selection of books. I can only imagine how hard the final choice is going to be for the comp.
I know right. I feel so pleased with my books that I’m positively glowing.
Lynn 😀
I like the cover for Never Die: the suggestion of wind, as shown by the movement of the foreground figure’s hair, is carried in the title, as if it were about to be blown away. It’s a cool effect, indeed . 🙂
It is a really excellent cover and very on point
Lynn 😀
[…] I will post my first six books then, the cover competition is already underway and my choices are here. and what a tough decision that was. I’ve included my weekly wrap up in today’s post […]
[…] My 3 covers for the cover competition […]
It took me a second to figure out what the Narrows cover was and now I can’t stop looking at it! It reminds me of a comic cover. And Never Die is just plain cool!
I know – I really had to zoom in on that cover because a quick glance really doesn’t do it justice.
Never Die is definitely cool.
Lynn 😀
The Gates of Golorath was one of my favorites from your list! Tho I really like the other two you picked too ❤
I just love the colours.
Lynn 😀
I really am in love with the cover for Benedict Patrick’s book, all his books that I’ve seen have fantastic covers.
Yep, his covers are great and usually do incredibly well in the cover competition.
Lynn 😀
I love your choices 🙂
Thanks – there are some great covers this year.
Lynn 😀
The standard is stunning – all these covers would stand against anything produced by the traditional publishing houses. And I’m delighted to see my favourite – From the Shadow of the Owl Queen’s Court – make your final cut. I hope the reading experience matches their visual impact for sheer quality!
I hope so too 😀
