Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic. Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here. This week’s topic is:
2021 Releases I Was Excited to Read But Didn’t Get To
I actually did a very similar post just before Christmas but the theme today gives me the opportunity to highlight a few more books that I didn’t manage to get to. I know, I am suitably ashamed. I tried to read them all but my over enthusiastic optimism of wanting far too many books got the better of me I’m afraid. Plus, last year was definitely a bit of a write off for me and my blogging and reading suffered as a result. Hopefully, I can catch up with some of these books this year in fact I have a couple of ideas for challenges that I think some of these books will be perfect for:
Game Changer by Neal Shusterman
Unsettled Ground by Claire Fuller
The Broken God by Gareth Hanrahan
The 22 Murders of Madison May by Max Barry
Spirits of Vengeance (A Mortal Techniques novel) by Rob J Hayes
Given to Darkness by Phil Williams
The Infernal Riddle of Thomas Peach by Jas Treadwell
I shot the Devil by Ruth McIver
The House of Dust by Noah Broyles
Last Girl Ghosted by Lisa Unger
This is a fantastic list! I especially can’t wait to get ahold of The 22 Murders of Madison May!
I hope you manage to grab a copy and love it.
Lynn 😀
That would be great.. I really don’t think I’ll have any trouble enjoying it, thanks!
I fancied reading The Infernal Riddle of Thomas Peach too. I hadn’t heard of The 22 Murders of Madison May but the title alone appeals and makes me want to know more 😀
I know – I loved the sound of both of them.
Lynn 😀
I could easily make two ot three of these posts, lol. I’m very curious about The House of Dust.
Talk about good intentions! Yes, I’m very curious about that one too.
Lynn 😀
The only one I’ve read here is Game Changer — I liked it, but wouldn’t say it’s a must read. I really like the cover for Unsettled Ground, but can’t say I’m familiar with any of these. Good luck if you decide to read them!
Okay, that’s good to know – maybe nudge that down the list a little then 😀
I also still need to read Game Changer! I hope you will get to al of these!
One can but hope 😀
Hmm, Game hanger is very tempting!!:
Here is my list: https://wordsandpeace.com/2022/01/18/top-ten-2021-releases-i-was-excited-to-read-but-didnt-get-to/
Yes, I thought so too – and look how that turned out. Ahh, I need more time.
Lynn 😀
Madison May- I remember seeing that around and I never got to it!
Yeah, it’s a shame – but never say never.
Lynn 😀
It wasn’t pictured, but THE BROKEN GOD is on my list of “Missed 2021 Reads,” too.
Well there you go – it’s good to be in company yes?
Lynn 😀
Yes. TBH I was nervous about my post. I’m not saying it’s a good thing, but I’m glad I’m not the only one who knows they have a huge TBR pile to read through.
Ooo there several books I haven’t heard of on your list!! Exciting! I also want to check out The 22 Murders of Madison May 😊
Yes, I had high hopes for that one – disappointed with myself really for not managing to fit it in.
Lynn 😀
