Books I hoped to read in 2021
Let the lists begin. December is definitely the month of lists. I saw this on the Bibliosanctum earlier today and it reminded me that I wanted to do something similar.
It doesn’t matter how many books I read I can never quite seem to catch up with my own optimistic ideals. I want all the books, it seems greedy on the face of it but I can’t help myself. Books are my passion and until I can find the secret of immortality or someone invents a time turner I shall simply keep muddling along, hoping for the best and believing I can read everything. So, here is a list of some of the books I was confident that I’d read this year, books that I still intend to read:
Brother Red by Adrian Selby
The End of Men by Christina Sweeney-Baird
The Kingdoms by Natasha Pulley
She Who Became the Sun by Shelley Parker-Chan
The Pariah by Anthony Ryan
The Witch Haven by Sasha Peyton Smith
Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber
Vespertine by Margaret Rogerson
Midnight in Everwood by MA Kuzniar
Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
Have you read any of these?
I haven’t read any of these either. I still need to put together a list like this and it always makes me sad. I wish authors would slow down so we can catch up!
Yeah, me too – although I’m always desperate for the next book too! You can’t win.
Lynn 😀
The Natasha Pulley book is one I’d like to read too as I’ve enjoyed her previous books. I love the Midnight in Everwood cover. That’s part of how I end up with massive lists of unread books, being caught by a lovely cover and then needing to know more 😀
Oh Yes, I’m familiar with that feeling – I love covers.
Lynn 😀
I still have The Pariah on my radar and hope to be able to read it next year…
Yes, I’ve not given up with these books. I’m just going to need to be a bit more careful about requesting books – but I get a bit giddy sometimes.
Lynn 😀
I also still need to read Vespertine and Midnight in Everwood! Once Upon a Broken Heart and Under the Whispering Door were very good though!
Thanks – I’ll have to bump them up.
Lynn 😀
Haha, I always have such mixed feelings making this list because it’s sad seeing how many books I missed but it also helps a lot in targeting the books I still MUST READ and that makes it more manageable. Looks like we have a few books in common here!
I was hoping for December to be my catch up month but alas the best laid plans of this book reader were destined to not go to plan
Lynn 😀
[…] actually did a very similar post just before Christmas but the theme today gives me the opportunity to highlight a few more books […]
