“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was originally created by Breaking the Spine. Unfortunately Breaking the Spine are no longer hosting so I’m now linking my posts up to Wishful Endings Can’t Wait Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop over, link up and check out what books everyone else is waiting for. If you want to take part, basically, every Wednesday, we highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to. This week my book is : Skyward by Brandon Sanderson. This sounds and looks excellent. I can’t wait. Due for publication in November 2018
Defeated, crushed, and driven almost to extinction, the remnants of the human race are trapped on a planet that is constantly attacked by mysterious alien starfighters. Spensa, a teenage girl living among them, longs to be a pilot. When she discovers the wreckage of an ancient ship, she realizes this dream might be possible—assuming she can repair the ship, navigate flight school, and (perhaps most importantly) persuade the strange machine to help her. Because this ship, uniquely, appears to have a soul.
This sounds so different from Sanderson’s other books, I’m excited for it too😁
I have so many of his series that I haven’t started so I’ve decided to start here instead.
Lynn 😀
oh I had not seen this one around! Sounds good! Glad you brought it to my attention!
Yeah, a new Sanderson series always has plenty of promise.
Lynn 😀
Sanderson writes so fast, it’s hard to keep up. I’ve only read a couple of his books!
I know exactly what you mean.
Lynn 😀
I’m interested in trying this author and this one sounds like a great place to start!
*materializes from shadows* Jennifer, you totally have to try his books! *slinks back into shadows*
😂 ♥️ Always happy to see you and what a magical appearance, Kathy!
I’ve read a few of his books but there are a few series out there that I haven’t tried and I’m quite behind with so thought this would be a good place to start.
Lynn 😀
I’m dying to read this one too. And I like this cover so much better than the US version!
Ooh, I will go and check the US cover out now then.
Lynn 😀
I’m super super curious to see how he’s going to tackle an epic space opera series! I guess this will be a teaser for how the scifi Mistborn era series might be like?
This is my most anticipated book for the last half of the year! I cannot wait 😀 I love the UK cover so much that I ordered it off book depository.
Yeah, that cover is rather lovely.
Lynn 😀
Ooh, I like the premise a great deal, plus it has a new Star Wars vibe about it. 😉
What a great comparison – the cover definitely has a Star Wars vibe too now you mention it.
Lynn 😀
