Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic. Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here. This week’s topic:
Books Set In ‘X’
I’ve gone for books set in winter so expect snow and freezing temperatures. These are all books that I’ve read in the last few years with links to my reviews:
The Drift by CJ Tudor

Road of Bones by Christopher Golden

Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett

Shiver by Allie Reynolds

The Wolf in the Whale by Jordanna Max Brodsky

Mistletoe by Alison Littlewood

Little Eve by Catriona Ward

The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley

The Shining by Stephen King

The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

Great selection! Several of these are already on my TBR but I’ll have to steal most of the others.
Thanks so much for sharing!
thanks. I hope you get a chance to pick some of them up.
Lynn 😀
Oh, I will.. it’s more a question of ‘when.’ Thank you and I hope you have a lovely weekend. 🌹😊
The Shining is the perfect choice for a wintry read, and so creepy as well. I always feel like rereading it around this time of year but might put Misery onto my TBR this time instead as I haven’t actually read that before.
I didn’t realise Emily Wilde was a winter-themed book. Looks like I need to get around to that one soon as well. Great list 😀
I loved the Emily White book – she basically travels to a very cold place to undertake research. The Shining was a cracking read for this time of year and I enjoyed it more than I expected (having already seen the film – I don’t usually read the book once I’e watched the adaptation but it was really good.
Lynn 😀
I love wintery books, even if I don’t want to BE in the winter myself, lol. I’ve read a few of these but really want to read Mistletoe.
Yes,I’m with you – I like snowy reads, and pictures, but I don’t really want to be in the cold!
Lynn 😀
I hate the cold, but some of these books sound great!
I’m not overly fond of being cold but I don’t mind reading about it.
Lynn 😀
I had to make sure most of these are already on my list! Love snowy settings!
Yeah, me too.
Lynn 😀
Hi Lynn, I like the look of your books with wintry settings, in particular I would like to read Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries and The Snow Child.
Blessings, Jessica 💌
Those are two fantastic choices and, I think, would be perfect for you.
Lynn 😀
