Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic. Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here. This week’s topic is:
Books with Names/Character Names In the Titles
I had quite a few books to choose from for this week’s topic – and even not including everything I had 25 titles – but this isn’t Top 25 Tuesday is it? So, I had to make some cuts. Here’s my list which I think goes from most recent books to older books:
Ariadne by Jennifer Saint

Stoker’s Wilde by Steven Hopstaken and Melissa Prusi

The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock by Imogen Hermes Gowar

Dracul by Dacre Stoker

Jane Steele by Lyndsay Faye

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J K Rowling

The Gospel of Loki by Joanne Harris

Agatha H and the Airship City by Phil and Kaja Foglio

Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

Coraline by Neil Gaiman

Sunshine by Robin McKinley

Great post, Lynn! There are so many great books here.. I’m a big fan of Howl and Coraline so I love that they’re on here.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by. I love Howl and Coraline too – such great books. And I really enjoyed this prompt.
Lynn 😀
You’re welcome! And it does look like fun, I’m glad you shared it with us!
I haven’t done a post this week but did glance at the topic. I cannot believe that I forgot Stoker’s Wilde, I mean, not just one name but two in that title, and a great read too 😀 And Dracul too, another book I had a great time reading.
I loved this particular prompt – I had a lot more than 10 books so had to make some difficult choices.
Lynn 😀
I love this list, Lynn! And it’s funny that we came up with two completely different lists😁
Haha – yes, this was a good prompt with plenty of choices.
Lynn 😀
Nice!! I love that you included Sunshine — a favorite book of mine for sure!
Yes, I loved that book. I was always kind of hopeful for more.
Lynn 😀
Love Dracula, so a couple on your list that are now on mine 😀
Yes, Dracula is such a good story isn’t it.
Lynn 😀
Great to see Jane Steele on your list… I am thinking I need a re-read of that soon! 😊
Yes, I’d like to read some more by that author I really enjoyed Jane Steele after all.
Lynn 😀
There are so many fitting the bill that it’s amazing to see the diversity when visiting participants in this meme.
I didn’t know that Harris had written in this genre!
And I really need to read Coraline!
here is my list: https://wordsandpeace.com/2022/02/01/top-ten-books-with-names-in-the-titles/
I love Harris – I’ve read a lot of her books and just think she has a beautiful style of writing.
And Gaiman too – although some of his books can be hit and miss – whilst others I just adore.
Lynn 😀
Like you picks very much — especially, Agatha H and the Airship City by Phil and Kaja Foglio which I now really want to read. And thanks to your post, I just realized that “Sunshine” was the name of the FMC, and didn’t just refer to vampire aversion to sunlight!
Haha yes – Sunshines – it can be a bit misleading that one.
Lynn 😀
Oh, and I loved Agatha H. A great deal of fun and I hope you get a chance to pick it up.
Lynn 😀
