Top Ten Tuesday : Please sir, I want some more.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic. Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here. This week’s topic :
Books I Loved so much that I wanted more of the same thing:
This is a list that could become very long quite easily so instead of delving into the books from my way in the distance past I’m going to focus on books from my very near past. Here are ten books that I really enjoyed and wish that I could read more (this could have so easily been a lot longer list in fact I’m so pleased at the restraint I exercised). All the books are linked to reviews and they are all standalone novels or first in series:
- Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
- The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart
- A Boy and His dog at the End of the World by CA Fletcher
- A Brightness Long Ago by Guy Gavriel Kay
- Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson
- The Bone Ships by RJ Barker
- The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock by Imogen Hermes Gowar
- The Echo Wife by Sarah Gailey
- The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward
- Later by Stephen King
I totally get you on Mexican Gothic and The Bone Shard Daughter! I need to read The Bone Ships as well!
I went for Mexican Gothic as well.
There are a few others here I could have added too, especially Later and A Boy and His Dog. Sticking to 10 was tough this week.
I can’t decide whether I should read Needless Street soon or keep it for my autumn tbr. Might see what they thought of it on Between the Covers and see if that tempts me even more 😀
Quite a few of these are on my tbr! I’ve heard mixed reviews about Mexican Gothic but my sister read it recently and loved it and we tend to have similar taste in books so I am hopeful!
So many great books on this list! I love seeing A Boy and his Dog, and I wish the author would write another book already😁
I definitely felt the same was about A Boy and His Dog, Mexican Gothic, and The Echo Wife! Such great reads, and so hard to finish and leave those worlds.
great list, you’ve included so many good books! i still need to read american gothic and sorcery of thorns
Later has me really curious (and I love that old timey kind of cover).
LAter was definitely a book that ended too soon! I wanted much more of the same.
