Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic. Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here. This week’s topic :
Love Freebie
Okay, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so this week I thought I’d focus on books with romance. Now I don’t particularly read a lot of romance but I guess over the years I’ve read a few. I think most of these are fairly well known so I’ve gone for covers only this week:
Great list 🙂 I’ve read quite a few of these, and a couple at least are overdue for a reread (P&P and Jane Eyre). I bought The Bronze Horseman absolutely ages ago but still haven’t read it yet, and The Princess Bride was a more recent purchase.
I don’t read a lot of romance either really but my latest want-to-read is the first Bridgerton book.
Ooh, I shall have to look at the Bridgerton book you mention. thanks
Lynn 😀
Can’t have a romance list without Claire and Jamie Fraser! I love it!
I didn’t complete the whole series – I think maybe I read up to and including No.6 – did you read them all?
And yes, Jamie and Claire – the list wouldn’t be complete without them.
Lynn 😀
I did! I read them all and I’ve watched every episode of the TV adaptation, it’s one of my favourites. I wish she would get on with releasing the next book already! x
Nice list of classics😁 Well, not technically classics but older books😁
Yes, I think the older books won this week for me.
Lynn 😀
Oh, I see some of my favorites in there. Great picks, Lynn! 🙂
Thanks 😀
Goodness, yes to all of these choices. Especially Daughter of the Forest, my all-time SFF favorite (or in the top 10 at any rate)!
Good to know. DId you continue with the rest of the series?
Yes! Huge fan of the series and all its spinoffs — also loved Flame of Sevenwaters and Heart’s Blood. And I think you can read these as standalones too, so that just adds to the booklove.
Good to know.
Lynn 😀
