Top Ten Tuesday : Cover Love

ttt

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic.  Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by  The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here.  This week’s topic :

Cover Freebie

If you ever stop by my blog you’ll know that I frequently focus on book covers because I like to show my appreciation for that side of the business – my only problem with this week’s theme is sticking to 10 (I might find a cunning way to cheat). I went with ten colour themes. Check out this buffet of beautiful covers:

This is a lovely selection of covers 🙂 Seeing Stoker’s Wilde West here made me smile, and I like that cover for American Gods, a book I know I have but haven’t had chance to read yet. I started watching the tv series but for some reason only watched a couple of episodes and I’ve wondered if I should go back to it.

Yes, Stoker’s Wilde West is going to be one of my next reads and I can’t wait.
I don’t think I ever watched all of American Gods – in fact I put off watching it at all because I wanted to read the book, then I got the special edition anniversary audio and listened to it – it was good. Funnily enough I didn’t complete the series so I should go back to it.
      Lynn 😀

Why stop at 10, indeed, when there are so many gorgeous covers? 😉

    • @lynnsbooks

Haha yes, I can never resist going overboard on all the covers.
      Lynn 😀

Ahhh such a great selection of covers!! I would find it really hard just picking 10! Its great to see Witches in here. I also love the cover of The Hunting Party

A feast for the eyes, Lynn😁 I’m loving all these cover posts today!

These covers are all fantastic for different reasons! I really love any that are more monochromatic, that’s just a style choice that I love for some reason. 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

Yes, I too have a similar taste and I think my overall ‘type’ comes across here.
      Lynn 😀

Great selections!! I really like the one for the poppy war, I’ve heard so much about it and it’s beautiful – I think I might look it up. I recently read the silent companions and love it so much (although was slightly creeped out haha) glad to see someone else did too! This week was a hard prompt (there were so many options haha) but I really like where you’ve gone with it. Here was my go at this TTT 🙂 :https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2020/09/15/top-ten-tuesday-predicting-plots-of-books-on-my-tbr/

The Silent Companions is wonderfully creepy isn’t it. I’ve read the author’s other books too, maybe not as creepy but still very gothic. The Corset was really good.
      Lynn 😀

The Poppy War gets me every single time (that whole series has the best covers) – but tell me more about The Clay Queen! I’ve never heard of it and that cover is fabulous.

    • @lynnsbooks

I haven’t read the Clay Queen, it’s one of the covers that was submitted to the Self Published Fantasy blog Off competition. It’s not in my batch unfortunately but it does have a lovely cover.
      Lynn 😀

Beautiful collage! I can definitely see some common design elements that you prefer 😀

Love these! I think my favorites are ‘A Natural History of Dragons’ and ‘In the Night Wood.’ 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

The dragon covers are just amazing. I would want them on my shelf even if I never read them or read them and didn’t like them (which is not the case at all).
      Lynn 😀
