Top Ten Tuesday : Books I Loved but Never Reviewed

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic.  Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by  The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here.  This week’s topic :

Books I Loved but Never Reviewed

I really like this topic because it gives me the opportunity to shout out about some excellent books that I unfortunately, probably due to timescales for review books, didn’t get to review at the time I read them.  All of these book are ones that I bought and although I read and loved them the reviews got put off and then I sort of lost momentum.  I confess I feel quite guilty!  Anyway, here are some lovelies for you:

  1. The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison
  2. Starsight by Brandon Sanderson
  3. King of the Road by RS Belcher
  4. Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers
  5. The Tethered Mage by Melissa Caruso
  6. American Gods by Neil Gaiman
  7. How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf by Molly Harper
  8. Envy of Angels by Matt Wallace
  9. Phantom Pains by Mishell Baker
  10. The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett

I need to finish reading ‘American Gods’ soon! I really liked it from what I read and I love Neil Gaiman’s writing style but I just got distracted. :/

It’s quite a hefty book as well isn’t it. I had a copy of the book for ages and was only really pushed to pick it up when the series was out because I wanted to read it first – I eventually picked up the special audio edition which was really good.

Now I’m intrigued by a book called How to Flirt with A Naked Werewolf 😀 Would have loved to read your review for that one!
And The Goblin Emperor. I’m reading it at the moment and enjoying the story but all the long names/titles are definitely slowing my reading pace.
I have a copy of American Gods but haven’t got around to it yet. I started watching the tv show but only ended up watching a couple of episodes and I’ve wondered whether I should give it another try.
    Great list 🙂

I have to say that How to flirt with a Naked Werewolf was just plain old good fun, light and breezy with flirting and romance. American Gods – the thought of reading was really scary for quite a while but I decided to listen to the special audio version which was very good.

I really must read The Goblin Emperor! I keep hearing such wonderful things and I’m completely out of the loop! 😀

    • @lynnsbooks

Well, it took me a long time to get to it and I needed a readalong to give me added incentive but I’m happy to have read it and I believe there might be a second book planned.
      Lynn 😀

Wisely plotted 😉 nothing like peer pressure to give you incentive!

King of the Road was one of my most recent reads, and I enjoyed it quite a bit: I hope that one of these days you might find the time and space to review these ones. Never say never, right? 😉

I loved King of the Road so much!! And Envy of Angels. And Phantom Pains! Such a great list😁

    • @lynnsbooks

Yes, I feel bad for not reviewing them all really but I find that my own books always take a back seat and then when I get too far behind I lose all my momentum.

Great list! I really have to pick up Skyward!

    My post!

    • @lynnsbooks

It’s such a good second book in series, highly recommended.
      Lynn 😀

  7. Hundreds&Thousands

Brilliant list! I really want to read American Gods and I lurrveee king of the road. Here was my go at this top ten Tuesday 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

I do feel bad for not reviewing these but it is what it is, King of the Road though, so good and I really hope for more in this series.
      Lynn 😀

  8. Once Upon A Bookshelf

I really need to pick up a Brandan Sanderson book ASAP. I feel like everyone has read his novels except me and their reviews are spectacular! Will definitely add it to the TBR.

I think American Gods are just toooo long and complicated to review! But it was a great read.

Glad to hear you loved these, especially Pratchett’s Wee Free Men, even if you weren’t able to write a review for them. 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

I read a few of the Tiffany books as part of a readalong so I did quite a few Q&A type posts on all of them – but then never actually reviewed them. I loved them though.
      Lynn 😀

I see a couple of my favorites on here! It’s tough to review every book when you read so much–it’s a lot of work! 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

I love my blog but reviewing and commenting and blog hopping is actually time consuming and so sometimes something has to give. To be fair, it’s a hobby, so if I don’t always review then so be it. My main problem is that I really need to review the book pretty soon after I’ve read it rather than sitting on things because I lose my momentum.
      Lynn 😀

      • waytoofantasy

Yeah, it really is time consuming! But like you said, it’s also a hobby. Sometimes I take things too seriously haha. 🙂
Oh, if I don’t review soon after reading that book is lost from my mind, so I get that. 🙂

      • @lynnsbooks

Yep, review quickly or not at all.
        Lynn 😀
