Top Ten Tuesday : One Word Book Titles

ttt

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic.  Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by  The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here.  This week’s topic is :

 Books With Single-Word Titles

I quite enjoyed this week’s theme just working my way back through previous blogging years.  Here’s what I came up with – all books linked to reviews.

  1. Westside by WM Akers
  2. Ration by Cody T Luff
  3. Deeplight by Frances Hardinge
  4. Kin by Snorri Kristjansson
  5. Witchmark by C L Polk
  6. Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett
  7. Dracul by Dacre Stoker
  8. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
  9. Uprooted by Naomi Novik
  10. Miserere by Teresa Frohock

Great list. Dracul and Uprooted made my list this week too, and I could/should have added Nevernight and Foundryside into my Yet To Read section as well as I have copies of both of them 😀

Sorry I missed this – Dracul was sooo good wasn’t it – I admit that I thought I’d have difficulty with this theme but in the end my only problem was narrowing it down to ten.

I loved Dracul 😀 I was surprised in the end how many one word titles I found, and how many I’d missed as well when I looked at other lists 🙂

Great list! I should have put Nevernight on mine as well!

    My post!

Nevernight is a trick book – strictly speaking it sounds like it should be two words 😀

I just recently bought Dracul – it sounds so good! Great list 😊

We have a couple of the same books, which doesn’t surprise me😁 This was fun, and really there are so many one word title books to choose from!

A great list! I’ve read: “Uprooted,” “Witchmark,” and “Nevernight” and I loved them! Let me know what you think of “Foundryside”! It’s been on my TBR pile for sometime and I haven’t had the time to get to it, yet!

    • @lynnsbooks

I really enjoyed Foundryside and I’m looking forward to No.2.

Thanks for that! It’s something to look forward to reading in the near future, hopefully.

I haven’t read any of those, but a couple are on my TBR. Great list!

Oh, some good ones on here that I probably wouldn’t have thought of! Uprooted and Kin for sure!

I was surprised. I thought I would have had more one word titles than I actually did – although the trend at the moment seems to be for strangely long book names – like, I was happy on my farm until I found out I was to be turned into a bacon sandwich, then after a bit of panicking I made friends with a lovely woman who saved my life. Or, Charlotte’s Web?
I could come up with more – in fact that might be a fun post.
      Lynn 😀

I REALLY need to read Miserere still. I don’t know why I haven’t, I think I might even have a copy somewhere. Great list!

Thanks, I hope you get a chance to give it a try. It was a while since I read it but it was good.
      Lynn 😀
