Can’t Wait Wednesday : The Name of All Things (A Chorus of Dragons #2) by Jenn Lyons

Can't Wait Wednesday

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was originally created by Breaking the Spine.  Unfortunately Breaking the Spine are no longer hosting so I’m now linking my posts up to Wishful Endings Can’t Wait Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop over, link up and check out what books everyone else is waiting for.  If you want to take part, basically, every Wednesday, we highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to.  This week my book is : The Name of All Things (A Chorus of Dragons #2) by Jenn Lyons. Check it out – I love the cover.

ThenameofKihrin D’Mon is a wanted man.

Since he destroyed the Stone of Shackles and set demons free across Quur, he has been on the run from the wrath of an entire empire. His attempt to escape brings him into the path of Janel Theranon, a mysterious Joratese woman who claims to know Kihrin.

Janel’s plea for help pits Kihrin against all manner of dangers: a secret rebellion, a dragon capable of destroying an entire city, and Kihrin’s old enemy, the wizard Relos Var.

Janel believes that Relos Var possesses one of the most powerful artifacts in the world―the Cornerstone called the Name of All Things. And if Janel is right, then there may be nothing in the world that can stop Relos Var from getting what he wants.

And what he wants is Kihrin D’Mon.

Jenn Lyons continues the Chorus of Dragons series with The Name of All Things, the epic sequel to The Ruin of Kings.

My review for The Ruin of Kings is here.

Due for publication : October 2019

I like the sound of this one. Cool title, great premise… and it’s new to me too, will check it out! Thanks for sharing it!

    • @lynnsbooks

No problem, hope you like the sound of the first, it’s a book that was a bit divisive but I really liked it
      Lynn 😀

  3. Barb (boxermommyreads) @Booker T's Farm

I’ve not heard much about the first one but it’s cool this one has shared a cover already.

    • @lynnsbooks

it’s a very quick turn around for a second in series – I’m very happy.
      Lynn 😀

Oh my! The clamor about Ruin of Kings has not abated (and I NEED to read that book!) and the next one in line is ready to come out! 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

i’m actually a little bit staggered about how quick the second book is due out. Happy, but staggered.
      Lynn 😀

  5. Barb (boxermommyreads)

I need to read the first one. I love how the covers coordinate.

  6. Nicole Evans

  7. Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum

I still need to read the first book, but I hope to look forward to this one soon as well!

    • @lynnsbooks

I can only imagine your reading schedule! I hope you get a chance to read it – and, tbh, I can’t believe how seen No.2 is due out.
      Lynn 😀

I didn’t know this was coming out so soon?! Is it a case of Jenn writing inhumanly fast, or did she have both books written beforehand? Anywho, I better get started on the first. 😀

    • @lynnsbooks

I’m guessing she must have already started this book before the first was published.
      Lynn 😀

October is so soon! I’m gonna have to get ready for this one. I’m wondering how it’ll be compared to the first book.

    • @lynnsbooks

I would think it would have to be a different format in some respects- although I suppose she probably could use the same but the element of surprise has now been lost.
      Lynn 😀

      • waytoofantasy

Yeah. It’ll be interesting to see how she’s done it though. I thought the same about NK Jemisin’s but she still did 2nd person for half of book 2 and it still worked although, yeah, that element of surprise was gone too. We’ll see soon, I suppose! 🙂

      • @lynnsbooks

        Yes, I’m very curious indeed.
        Lynn 😀

  10. Carmen

    Intriguing premise. I like it.

    • Carmen

After reading your review of the first installment, I’m left with way several questions about the identity of Kihrin and his role in this world. I guess you did your job right, Lynn. 😉

    • @lynnsbooks

Yes, and I was so surprised to see the expected publication date – it really not a long wait at all.
      Win
      Lynn 😀
