Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme where every Tuesday we look at a particular topic for discussion and use various (or more to the point ten) bookish examples to demonstrate that particular topic. Top Ten Tuesday (created and hosted by The Broke and Bookish) is now being hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl and future week’s topics can be found here. This week’s topic is:
Books I LOVED with Fewer than 2,000 Ratings on Goodreads
So, I’ve gone for the most recent reads from my shelves and the books below are all 4.5 or 5 star reads (my reviews are all linked and GR ratings in brackets). I loved them all and I’m always happy to shout from the rooftops about books I loved. If you need some recommendations here they be. Let’s topple some TBRs:
The Wolf in the Whale by Jordanna Max Brodsky (247)
Creatures: The Legacy of Frankenstein by David Thomas Moore (Goodreads Author) (Editor), Emma Newman (Goodreads Author), Tade Thompson (Goodreads Author), Paul Meloy, Kaaron Warren (Goodreads Author), Rose Biggin – (35)
Paternus: Wrath of Gods (Paternus Trilogy #2) by Dyrk Ashton – (378)
You Die When You Die (West of West #1) – (430)
The Last Sun (The Tarot Sequence #1) by K.D. Edwards – (793)
Age of Assassins (The Wounded Kingdom #1) by R.J. Barker (1758)
A Time of Dread (Of Blood and Bone #1) by John Gwynne (1323)
The Nine (Thieves of Fate #1) by Tracy Townsend (227)
A Pocketful of Crows by Joanne M. Harris, (1182)
An Alchemy of Masques and Mirrors (The Risen Kingdoms #1) by Curtis Craddock (813)
I see quite a few here that I want to read. Now I feel even better about grabbing them in the future.
I hope you find a chance to fit some of them in.
Lynn 😀
Got to agree with you several of these. And I can’t believe I still haven’t started The Wolf in the Whale. I’m so behind!
Ditto that sentiment about being behind. Ahh well, bookish problems are good problems.
Lynn 😀
I picked up Pocketful of Crows on a whim while holiday shopping in December — haven’t read it yet, but I love the look and sound of it. I’d like to read The Wolf in the Whale too. All of these look intriguing!
I really like Joanne Harris so that was like a no brainer for me. The Wolf in the Whale was brilliant and absolutely fascinating.
Lynn 😀
I’m loving all these gorgeous covers. Love your post!
Thanks – there are some little beauties.
Lynn 😀
Oooh the guy on the cover of The Last Son looks like a young Jared Padalecki and that makes me really want to read it!
I can see that.
Lynn 😀
This is such a great topic. Both The Last Sun and The Nine are in my TBR piles, just need to find time to squeeze them in!
I’d like to jump up and down with excitement saying ‘read them, read them’ but I know how many books you have – such a lot of good ones.
Lynn 😀
No less than three of these books are on my TBR (Wolf in the Whale, Age of Assassins, Alchemy of Masques & Mirrors). So, so behind…
I hear ya! I have so many unread books – that I really, really want to get time to pick up.
Lynn 😀
I remember your reviews of the first two books and they were very memorable. It’s a shame that the wider community of readers haven’t made their acquaintance yet. 😮
I can’t believe Age of Assassins is on there! I definitely still need to read Gwynne and Alchemy of Masques and Mirrors, too!
Yeah, I suppose it’s still early days for some of these – I was surprised by Age of Assassins and also A Time of Dread.
Lynn 😀
What did you think of The Nine? it’s on my TBR, not sure if i shoudl kick it up a few spots.
I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read the next one. I would bump it up the list.
Lynn 😀
will do!
A lot of great ones on here that I hope will get more attention – The Nine, Age of Assassins, etc. I’m thinking Wolf in the Whale will get more ratings as the year goes on though and people keep raving about it 😀
Yeah, I hope so too – it’s still very early days.
Lynn 😀
I believe that most of these books already be on me list cause of yer prior posts! Arrrr!
x The Captain
Whoops – sorry! 😀
