Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below – the list has been updated to help out those of you who like to plan ahead – if you have a cover in mind that you’re really wanting to share then feel free to leave a comment about a future suggested theme. This week’s theme:
‘Hi little cub. Oh no, don’t be ssscared.’ – A cover with snakes
I found this week’s theme slightly easier than I expected. I did have a few books that I thought of using but decided on: The Testament of Loki by Joanne M Harris:
The covers:
My favourite this week is:
I just love this cover and also really loved both books in the series – I don’t know if more are planned but one can but hope.
Like last week I’ve added a Mr Linky here so that you can leave a link if you wish or please leave me a link in the comments so I can visit and check out your covers. Thanks
I’ll be updating the list soon to take it through a few more months – if you have any suggestions you’d like to see adding then drop a note in the comments. Thanks
Next week – A heart – for Valentine’s day past
Future themes: (if you’re struggling with any of these themes then use a ‘freebie’ of one of your favourite covers)

[…] UK and US book covers and decide which is we prefer. This meme is currently being nurtured by Lynn’s Book Blog and the subject this week featuring on any of our covers is SNAKES, so I’ve selected a book from […]
Oh yes… great choice of covers and your favourite is head and shoulders above the others – apart from anything else, it’s so pretty! I haven’t read these books and given they are featuring myths and a dragon, it sounds like it could be my kind of read!
I enjoyed both books – and I don’t know if more are intended but I would pick them up for sure.
Lynn 😀
I always pay attention to your recommendations… Thank you, Lynn:)
😀
I didn’t even think of this book when I thought of snakes. I’ve always been curious about it. I like the same cover you do. Very eye-catching!
It popped into my head quite unexpectedly – I was thinking of Jungle Book! Then I remembered that Loki’s son was a snake!
Lynn 😀
Great pick this week! I love your choice, mostly because of the snake😁
Yeah, and the gorgeous colouring.
Lynn 😀
You can almost hear that snake hissing! 😀 Good choice!
Thanks 😀
DEfinitely my favorite as well!
Thanks 😀
Yes, definitely! Though I like the girl’s hair on the second cover; it’s strikingly orangy-red.
I like that hair too – very striking indeed.
Lynn 😀
I’ve always liked the UK covers more for the books in this series! Great choice!
Yeah, me too – I love these covers.
Lynn 😀
Great choice, Lynn 😀 I still need to read this!
I love this author – I think I’d read a shopping list if she was to write it!
Lynn 😀
HAHA 😛
I really love that cover! If I ever order a physical copy of these books I am definitely going to have to get the UK copies. 🙂
They are lovely covers – the sort that make me daydream and lose time just sitting looking at them.
Lynn 😀
That’s also my favorite cover of The Gospel of Loki and btw the second book in the series is kind of like a midway book for another series she’s written, Loki isn’t the main character but he’s in it.
Ohh, I didn’t know that – I’ll have to go take a look. I love this author.
Lynn 😀
