Can’t Wait Wednesday : The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins

Can't Wait Wednesday

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was originally created by Breaking the Spine.  Unfortunately Breaking the Spine are no longer hosting so I’m now linking my posts up to Wishful Endings Can’t Wait Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop over, link up and check out what books everyone else is waiting for.  If you want to take part, basically, every Wednesday, we highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to.  This week my book is : The Confessions of Frannie Langton by Sara Collins.

Confessions.jpgThey say I must be put to death for what happened to Madame, and they want me to confess. But how can I confess what I don’t believe I’ve done?

1826, and all of London is in a frenzy. Crowds gather at the gates of the Old Bailey to watch as Frannie Langton, maid to Mr and Mrs Benham, goes on trial for their murder. The testimonies against her are damning – slave, whore, seductress. And they may be the truth. But they are not the whole truth.

For the first time Frannie must tell her story. It begins with a girl learning to read on a plantation in Jamaica, and it ends in a grand house in London, where a beautiful woman waits to be freed.

But through her fevered confessions, one burning question haunts Frannie Langton: could she have murdered the only person she ever loved?

Due for publication: April 2019

I’ve never heard of this, but wow, I’m intrigued! I need to remember this for when I’m in the mood for a historical murder mystery😁

I like the sound of this and I’m hoping for a hint of gothic within the pages.

I love the cover, but am guessing this one is going to be tad too dark for my taste:)

Hmm. So my comment didn’t post with my link. Don’t remember if you have approval on or not. But, if you Google My World…in words and pages the blog should show up.

        Okay, thanks. 😀

This is a new one for me, but reading the blurb I can’t help but be intrigued. Poor Frannie! You gotta wonder what just happened leading up to her trial!

Yeah, I liked the sound of this and I’m hoping for a gothic style (which I’m just loving at the moment).
