“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was originally created by Breaking the Spine. Unfortunately Breaking the Spine are no longer hosting so I’m now linking my posts up to Wishful Endings Can’t Wait Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop over, link up and check out what books everyone else is waiting for. If you want to take part, basically, every Wednesday, we highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to. This week my book is : Cage of Souls by Adrian Tchaikovsky
The Sun is bloated, diseased, dying perhaps. Beneath its baneful light, Shadrapur, last of all cities, harbours fewer than 100,000 human souls. Built on the ruins of countless civilisations, surviving on the debris of its long-dead progenitors, Shadrapur is a museum, a midden, an asylum, a prison on a world that is ever more alien to humanity.
Bearing witness to the desperate struggle for existence between life old and new, is Stefan Advani, rebel, outlaw, prisoner, survivor. This is his testament, an account of the journey that took him into the blazing desolation of the western deserts; that transported him east down the river and imprisoned him in verdant hell of the jungle’s darkest heart; that led him deep into the labyrinths and caverns of the underworld. He will treat with monsters, madman, mutants. The question is, which one of them will inherit this Earth?
Due for publication April 2019
This sounds amazing! And I’m a sucker for green covers, for some reason:-)
I know, Me too 😀
After Children of Time I’ve been looking forward to reading something else from this author, and Cage of Souls is sending the right “vibes” my way… 🙂
Mine too 😀
What a beautiful cover and I’ve not read anything by this author, but for some reason I recognize his name….hmmm.
You’ve probably seen a few reviews round – Dogs of War maybe??
Wow, it sounds so good that makes me want to read it, and I don’t read fantasy. 🙂
Great blurb and cover.
Lynn 😀
Ooo… a new Tchaikovsky! *bounces in chair excitedly* Thank you so much for sharing… somehow this one passed me by.
Let’s hope it’s another corker.
Lynn 😀
Probably – I’ll soon find out:)))
Oh, I have never read any of his stuff, but man, that cover is beautiful! Hope you enjoy this one when you get to it!
Me too. Thanks 😀
This is on my list too! But so far, looks like UK publication details only – going to have to wait for this to come stateside!
That seems to be the case more often than not with this author.
Lynn 😀
Adrian Tchaikovsky is one of those authors I keep telling myself I need to read. One of these days I will
I just said to Tammy – we should have a t-shirt printed – ‘one day’.
Lynn 😀
Nice cover!

I really need to get around to reading something by this author. I’ve had Children of Time on my ereader for a few years now -.-‘
Yes, I also have Children of Time and should really pick it up.
