Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below – the list has been updated to help out those of you who like to plan ahead – if you have a cover in mind that you’re really wanting to share then feel free to leave a comment about a future suggested theme. This week’s theme:
A cover that is fresh – New beginnings for a New Year
I confess that when I dreamt up this week’s theme it really did seem like a good idea! As it happens I did have a few books that kind of worked but to be honest this was much more difficult than I anticipated. So, I’ve gone for a book that I think (aka hope) fits: The Wild Girl by Kate Forsyth. I bought this a few years ago along with another of Kate’s books – Bitter Greens. I’ve not had chance to read them but I figure I can use them here. See what you think:
The covers:
The bottom two feel spring-like and fresh, to me anyway.
My favourite this week:
Like last week I’ve added a Mr Linky here so that you can leave a link if you wish or please leave me a link in the comments so I can visit and check out your covers. Thanks
Next week – A cover that is set in the Tudor period
Future themes: (if you’re struggling with any of these themes then use a ‘freebie’ of one of your favourite covers)

Lol… I took it as an opportunity to feature a book I particularly liked:)). I think your choice is great, though for once I disagree with your selection. I far prefer the top left cover with the girl standing in the light at the end of a forested tunnel. While they are all lovely and eye-catching, that one particularly speaks to me…
It’s fascinating how we all find different things in the covers – it’s one of the things that I think is so good about the FFO.

It’s my favourite meme:)). Thank you so much for taking it on and keeping it going – you’re a star!
The simplistic beauty of the cover easily stands out among all them. I think the top right one is close too. Though I think I’d prefer if the castle on mountain had been drawn instead of photography (at least, it looks like a picture to me?)
You could be right – I hadn’t looked closely enough but that might be a photograph.
Lynn 😀
These are all beautiful! I think my favorite is #3😁
Yeah, that’s a fascinating cover – I could blow that up and look at it for ages.
Lynn 😀
What a lovely cover! The outline of the reading (and maybe dreaming?) girl seems to come straight out of a fairy tale… 🙂
I think that both of the books I bought are based on fairytales – or it could be just the other book that isn’t displayed (and is definitely based on Rapunzel).

Great pick this week! I really like all the covers! But I think the bottom left is my favorite 🙂
Yeah, the colours are lovely. The bottom two were my favourites.
Lynn 😀
I love the one you chose but I also liked the one next to it.
I guess you could call them both pretty.
Lynn 😀
I loved this book so much. With my German heritage, I can tell you it feels very authentic. The different covers are beautiful…Bitter Greens is on my tbr…hopefully I can read it soon.
I still have to read it – well, both of them – but it’s good to know you enjoyed it so much – makes me want to bump it up the tbr.
Lynn 😀
Yeah, for “fresh” one of the first things I thought of was flowers in bloom too. I love the cover you’ve chosen. The one beside it is nice too, but I think I prefer the colors in your winner.
They’re both quite pretty covers but I like the style of the blue one and I do prefer the colours.
Lynn 😀
I love this choice and all of these covers are fabulous!!! I love the one you picked but they’re all pretty great. I like the first one a lot too.
They’re all quite nice covers tbh. Difficult to choose really.
Lynn 😀
Such beautiful covers 🙂 I haven’t read Kate Forsyth’s books either, but I would definitely like to.
They were recommended by a good friend and by the sound of it I think they would be the type of book that we would both enjoy.
Lynn 😀
Happy new year! The covers are all beautiful. I’m always taken by the many faces a book can have. 🙂
Me too 😀
