Kuang – The Poppy War was an amazing read and so naturally I am giddy with excitement to read No.2

In the aftermath of the Third Poppy War, shaman and warrior Rin is on the run: haunted by the atrocity she committed to end the war, addicted to opium, and hiding from the murderous commands of her vengeful god, the fiery Phoenix. So many people loved The Poppy Wars. I really must pick it up eventually. Hope this one is just as good and I really love the cover.
It was so unexpected – I mean you never know when you pick up a book whether you’ll love it or not but with this book I liked the sound of it but it never felt like one of the over hyped books so I went into the read fairly nonchalantly and it just wowed me.

Sounds a bit complicated for my taste, but I like the combination of mythology and Chinese history. I hope you like it when you get to it. 🙂
