“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was originally created by Breaking the Spine. Unfortunately Breaking the Spine are no longer hosting so I’m now linking my posts up to Wishful Endings Can’t Wait Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop over, link up and check out what books everyone else is waiting for. If you want to take part, basically, every Wednesday, we highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to. This week my book is : The Everlasting Rose (The Belles #2) by Dhonielle Clayton.
In this sequel to the instant New York Times bestseller, Camille, her sister Edel, and her guard and new love Remy must race against time to find Princess Charlotte. Sophia’s Imperial forces will stop at nothing to keep the rebels from returning Charlotte to the castle and her rightful place as queen. With the help of an underground resistance movement called The Iron Ladies-a society that rejects beauty treatments entirely-and the backing of alternative newspaper The Spider’s Web, Camille uses her powers, her connections and her cunning to outwit her greatest nemesis, Sophia, and restore peace to Orleans.
Expected publication: March 2019
I remember you loved the first book. I didn’t even know there was a sequel, cool!
Yeah, this seems to have come around fairly quickly. I’m really looking forward to seeing how things work out.

I hadn’t actually heard of The Belles until an author mentioned it at the book festival and now I want to read this series, sounds great!
I liked the first, it’s got an unusual premise and I’m really keen to see where the author takes this.

This cover is so much darker than the first. Makes me want to pull the first one off my Kindle and get started.
My thoughts exactly – I can’t say it’s a surprise after the way the first one concluded but I’m keen to see how this one shapes up.
Lynn 😀
Looks fun, I love the sound of the underground resistance movement.
Yeah, I hope this one works out – the underground is definitely intriguing.

A race against time to restore an heiress to her rightful throne…Count me in! 🙂
Yay 😀
I remember being curious about The Belles when it came out, especially after seeing your review. I hope the sequel will live up to your expectations!
Well, the cover certainly makes me think I’m on the right track about the way the next novel will go so we’ll see.
Lynn 😀
I think I spent a good minute trying to see what’s going on with the cover. Interesting that we’ve gone from pink and cute to something more Black Panther-esque. 😀
Yeah, I did a double take with the cover – it’s very different from the first and I think is a good indication of the way this book is going to go.
