“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was originally created by Breaking the Spine. Unfortunately Breaking the Spine are no longer hosting so I’m now linking my posts up to Wishful Endings Can’t Wait Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop over, link up and check out what books everyone else is waiting for. If you want to take part, basically, every Wednesday, we highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to. This week my book is The True Queen (Sorcerer Royal #2) by Zen Cho. I was so happy to see this one is due for release. I really enjoyed Sorcerer to the Crown.
In the follow-up to the “delightful” Regency fantasy novel (NPR.org) Sorcerer to the Crown, a young woman with no memories of her past finds herself embroiled in dangerous politics in England and the land of the fae.
When sisters Muna and Sakti wake up on the peaceful beach of the island of Janda Baik, they can’t remember anything, except that they are bound as only sisters can be. They have been cursed by an unknown enchanter, and slowly Sakti starts to fade away. The only hope of saving her is to go to distant Britain, where the Sorceress Royal has established an academy to train women in magic.
If Muna is to save her sister, she must learn to navigate high society, and trick the English magicians into believing she is a magical prodigy. As she’s drawn into their intrigues, she must uncover the secrets of her past, and journey into a world with more magic than she had ever dreamed.
Due for publication March 2019
I still haven’t read Sorcerer to the Crown, I know, my bad. But this makes me want to pick it up. Although the eternal question: why are the covers so different???
I know – *twitches*

I am also looking forward to this one, loved the first book!
Me too 😀
Makes me want to grab the first one. Big cover change though right?
I know – i so don’t like cover changes.
Lynn 😀
Haven’t read book 1 yet, but this one sounds interesting! I also agree with everyone. The first cover had a distinctly Asian look, and this one rather reminds me of a historical mystery.
I know, I really don’t get why the change in cover style. I loved the cover for book 1.
Lynn 😀
Ooh, I like this UK cover! Looking forward to this one too 🙂
I like the cover – not so sure why it’s not in character with the first book but even so – it’s quite lovely.
Lynn 😀
Sounds good, fairy tale-like. Enjoy when you get to it. 🙂
