“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was originally created by Breaking the Spine. Unfortunately Breaking the Spine are no longer hosting so I’m now linking my posts up to Wishful Endings Can’t Wait Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop over, link up and check out what books everyone else is waiting for. If you want to take part, basically, every Wednesday, we highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to. This week my book is : The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon.
A world divided.
A queendom without an heir.
An ancient enemy awakens.
The House of Berethnet has ruled Inys for a thousand years. Still unwed, Queen Sabran the Ninth must conceive a daughter to protect her realm from destruction—but assassins are getting closer to her door.
Ead Duryan is an outsider at court. Though she has risen to the position of lady-in-waiting, she is loyal to a hidden society of mages. Ead keeps a watchful eye on Sabran, secretly protecting her with forbidden magic.
Across the dark sea, Tané has trained all her life to be a dragonrider, but is forced to make a choice that could see her life unravel.
Meanwhile, the divided East and West refuse to parley, and forces of chaos are rising from their sleep.
Expected publication February 2019
I have a request out on NetGalley for this one… here’s hoping I get it. Looks really good!
Fingers crossed.

This cover is to die for! I’m not sure I want to read it though, since I’m not a huge fan of her first series. But who knows, maybe her writing has changed a lot!
Yeah, I seem to have lost the plot with the first series for some reason. I do love the cover for this one though. I know, I’m fickle.
Lynn 😀
I just saw this one on netgalley the other day and thought it looked interesting. The cover draws you right in!
Yeah, the cover is spectacular.
This has been my “can’t wait” for forever! So excited!!!
It’s such a gorgeous cover isn’t it.

Wow, Lynn, this sounds fab! Adding it to my list.
It does sound quite enticing.

I like the premise, and the cover is just beautiful! 🙂

That dragon wrapped around the crumbling tower is nothing short of magnificent! 🙂
Yup, completely agree.

Oh my now THAT’S a cover. Love it. A secret society of mages, and dragons too? Looks great.
It is rather lovely isn’t it.
Lynn 😀
I’m looking forward to this too! My interest in her Bone Season series sort of fizzled out, so I hope I’ll enjoy her fantasy more. Apparently this book is quite huge though, so it’ll be an audio listen for me!
Yes, I saw it was a doorstopper – but, it’s also a standalone – so it’s almost like two books in one!
Lynn 😀
I love the sound of this one! Dragons and mages? I am there. I hope you love this one when you read it. I would love to read this one as well.
Well, the cover is certainly getting things off to a great start – fingers crossed that the content is equally as good.
Lynn 😀
I didn’t read her other series, but i’m going to be getting grabby with this one when it comes out.
It does look and sound very good.
Lynn 😀
