May : My Month in Covers

May has been an odd month.  I’ve read eight books but my blogging has been a disaster because, put simply, life ‘things’ have taken hold of the reins – nothing bad or disastrous but just such a lot that it’s left me exhausted and a bit lacking momentum in terms of doing any other things.  I do feel very guilty because I’m behind with review books.  Fortunately, June is a fairly quiet month so I’m going to catch up with all my review books and write ups.  Below is a quick round up of the books I’ve read during May – all displayed in covers (I’m missing one book from my list because I don’t, at the moment have a cover to share). My month in review will follow shortly.  Hope you’ve read some good books this month.

All beautiful covers. Don’t fret about not having been around that much around the blog this month, we’ll be here when you come back in full force. 😉 I hope life gets more manageable in June. 🙂

I hope so too – it’s the review books that I guess I fret about. But, these things happen and hopefully June will be much calmer.

Yeah, it’s been a weird month for me too. We’re on the cusp of summer, so there are a lot of spring things to get done but also a lot of stuff to prepare for. I’ve been relying on audiobooks to get any reading done these days!

The reading hasn’t been too bad but I’ve just not written up the reviews. We’ve been so busy, often out with no access to wifi that it just became impossible to keep on top of. So, now I’m really behind and feel guilty. These things happen but that doesn’t mean you don’t feel a bit of guilt as a result.

I’m afraid to look at my stats for this month. Things have been so busy. I’ve been feeling the guilt as well.

Yeah, I don’t mind too much about the blog but I do feel guilty over the review books. It’s really not my thing being so behind. Oh well, life happens.

Looks like a great month! Eight books is awesome, at least in my opinion:-)

    • @lynnsbooks

Yeah, my reading has been fine and I’ve been reading at night but I’ve been useless with blogging and I’m behind with reviews so I’ve got some catching up now. It can’t be helped though.

The covers are wonderful! And all the books seem interesting! I have some of them on my wishlist and I have the suspect that I would ads all the other ones once I’ve checked them out on Goodreads! 🙂

Haha – the ever growing (groaning) tbr. Still, good problems to have.

  6. The Cozy Pages

    Those are some beautiful covers.
Don’t feel guilty. Life happens 😉

    • @lynnsbooks

Yeah, I only feel guilty about the books that were for review that I’ve not written up yet. But, I suppose sometimes life gets in the way. I guess the other thing is I hate getting behind and now I really am!

    Such nice covers!
I finally got my hands on the library copy of The Poppy War and I cannot wait!

The reviews will come in good time, no need to feel guilty or to drive yourself to the ground! What really matters is that you managed to read some good books: the rest… well, the rest will take care of itself 🙂

I know, I just hate letting myself get behind and then it feels so difficult catching up. I think I’ll probably do slightly shorter reviews for some of the books to help.

  9. May : My Month in Review | Books and travelling with Lynn

[…] Ahh, months may come and months may go but I’m sort of relieved that the month of May has reached it’s end.  Don’t get me wrong, I can’t complain, just things seem to have been a little hectic and even though I’ve managed to read eight books I’ve achieved very little else in terms of reviews.  I do feel very guilty but the best laid plans, etc, etc.  Anyway, I hope you’ve all had a good month.    My Month in Covers is here. […]

Lynn, the cover for The Wisdom of Sally Red Shoes is SO pretty and I really like the cover for The Testament of Loki, and I am really looking forward to reading the latter 🙂

I love the covers for the Harris books. So lovely.
      Lynn 😀
