Waiting on Wednesday : The Armored Saint (The Sacred Throne #1) by Myke Cole

“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme that was originally created by Breaking the Spine.  Unfortunately Breaking the Spine are no longer hosting so I’m now linking my posts up to Wishful Endings Can’t Wait Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop over, link up and check out what books everyone else is waiting for.  If you want to take part, basically, every Wednesday, we highlight a book that we’re really looking forward to.  This week my book is : The Armored Saint (The Sacred Throne #1) by Myke Cole.

armoredIn a world where any act of magic could open a portal to hell, the Order insures that no wizard will live to summon devils, and will kill as many innocent people as they must to prevent that greater horror. After witnessing a horrendous slaughter, the village girl Heloise opposes the Order, and risks bringing their wrath down on herself, her family, and her village.

Due to be published: February 2018

Sounds like a good one. The cover and title have a Joan of Arc-esque vibe.

Yes, quite so, although I hadn’t thought of it personally.

I’ve never read Myke Cole, but I’ve been seeing this book around a lot. I’ll have to check it out😁

I was hoping it might make a good starting point for me to read this author’s work.
      Lynn 😀

I really like the Joan of Arc vibe about this one, Lynn – look forward to seeing what you make of it:)

Yes, I hadn’t thought of the Joan of Arc vibe but now you mention it – definitely. I hope this one is good – it will be my first book by this author although I did buy his last series and still haven’t read them. Thinking I could start with this and I won’t feel so far behind.
      Lynn 😀

Yes – I did try one a while ago, but couldn’t get on with it. I’ll be interested to see what you make of this one.

      • @lynnsbooks

        Me too 😀

I am not the only one who was reminded of Joan of Arc. 🙂 Was thinking of playing her campaign at the Age of empires next week. My laptop’s due this weekend from the repair centre. That’s a totally irrelevant info but I am so happy!

Well, the premise looks interesting and the cover is nothing short of arresting: this looks like a winner, indeed! 🙂

I really want to read something by Myke Cole and I figure if I go for this then I won’t be behind like usual – method in the madness or cunning plan…
      Lynn 😀

I’ve read Cole’s Control Point and it was a blast! I definitely want to read more by him, and I’ve been eyeing this one with interest 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

Yeah, I’ve not read his military sci fi books although I did buy them all. Typical. But maybe this could be a starting point for me with this author.
      Lynn 😀
