Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
‘I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently’ – a cover featuring snow
This week I’ve chosen Wintersmith (Discworld #35) by Terry Pratchett. I loved the Tiffany Aching series of books and there are a lot of covers for this one:
I like quite a few of these covers, some of them scream Pratchett don’t they and there’s a few on here that I’ve not seen before. My favourite this week:
I love this cover – it has a sense of mischief and fun and the Tiffany Aching books are certainly a whole lot of fun.
Which is your favourite?
Next week – a cover featuring a fancy font
Future themes:
1st December 2017 – The pen is mightier than the sword – a cover featuring a fancy font
8th December 2017 – ‘Do not go gentle’ – a cover featuring the night…
15th December 2017 – Hubble bubble toil and trouble – a cover featuring a portion/perfume bottle
What a wonderful book choice! I can’t BELIEVE I didn’t think of this one… And there isn’t a cover here I don’t like, though the one with the acorn is a bit bloomin’ boring. But my favourite is Winter11 – that gorgeous one in the middle, which while it falls outside the Terry Pratchett brand, is just absolutely beautiful. You’ve nailed it again, Lynn:). Should we be thinking about the next lot, do you think? And are you prepared to act as host if Proxy is continuing with her sabbatical?
I was happy when I thought of this book – although I think I’ve already used it!
Lynn 😀
Pfff – who cares? Once a classic cover, always a classic cover…
Quite so 😀
I like the Russian covers on either side of your chosen one, and the one in the middle on the second row.
The middle one certainly proved very popular 😀
I like the French cover (third one on second row): the people depicted there look like some overgrown Smurfs! 😀
Haha 😀
I love the one right smack in the middle. Your choice is lovely too, very whimsical!
Yeah, it’s a lovely cover.
Lynn 😀
Too many lovely covers to choose from! But if I must choose, I think my favourite is the very centre one 🙂
Nice choice 😀
