Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy .   This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers.  The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite.   Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:

That great condenser of moral chaos, The City (A cover which features a city)

And I’ve chosen The City & the City by China Miéville

My favourite this week is:

city2

Which is your favourite?

Next week – a cover featuring a black and white design

Great post! I liked the first cover the best.

    Here’s my Friday Face Off:

I loved this novel. China Mieville is a great author but some of his books are huge. His Perdido Street Station trilogy is over 2500 pages!

I haven’t read this one – but I love the selection of covers – this particular week has produced some really interesting choices. And my favourite, too, is the pink one – it’s very clever and subtle, though I was very torn as I was also strongly tempted by the first cover with the cityscape. I loved the pulp feeling of this one and alllll the detail. Thank you for listing the next few months FF topics, you’re a star for stepping and keeping this one going:)

The first one is a great cover packed with detail. No problem about the list and thanks for the suggestions.
      Lynn 😀

  4. Carmen

That’s hand down my favorite cover too, and it is quite fetching.

Oh this was a really good choice. I haven’t read this yet, but I want to because I love his other books. I’m going to agree with you on your favorite pick, that’s mine as well. I also love the one right next to it.

    • @lynnsbooks

They’re both good – and the first cover is also very popular 😀

  6. Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum

Hmm, it’s hard to choose! A lot of them are too plain for me, I think I’ll have to go with the third one. The silhouette is very dramatic!

  7. @lynnsbooks

The third one does have a very dark and creepy feel doesn’t it.
    Lynn 😀
