I really wanted to like When We Were Animals but that book kind of drove me nuts. I was just happy to finish it. I do keep meaning to read the Ben Tripp novel though. Thanks for sharing a great list!

Thanks – the Ben Tripp novel was so good – but then I do tend to like vampire type stories.

What a fun list! I completely agree with you on The Fifth House, Owl, and When we Were Animals. Lots of other goodies I’ll have to check out:-)

    • @lynnsbooks

I could have easily added a few more to this list to be honest.

The writing in When We Were Animals was so great. I really need to read some more by him. I have a copy of The Fifth House of the Heart. At some point I need to read it.

I loved Fifth House of the Heart – I hope there’s more from that quarter. I never thought to look up more by Joshua Gaylord – I must go and take a look.
      Thanks
      Lynn 😀

Once more, I’m having to be VERY self controlled as I see this selection. I recall listening to Jasper Kent discussing his series at Fantasycon a couple of years ago – it sounded cool then, so I will be adding it to my TBR when it becomes a bit more manageable. And I enjoy Alex Bledsoe’s writing and this one looks fascinating… Thank you for sharing:))

The Jasper Kent series is great – Vampires stalking battle fields, and I love the historical elements and the time frame.

Yes – this is definitely on my radar. I really like the premise and will be getting to this series once I’ve cleared some of the others from my TBR.

I’ve read many of these, but there are a couple on this list I still want to/have to read! I wonder what Ben Tripp is working on these days. I heard a rumor a while back about a sequel or follow-up to Fifth House of the Heart, but I’ve heard nothing since.

    • @lynnsbooks

I heard that too and I was so excited but it now seems to have all gone quiet. I hope that just means that the pages are flowing….

  6. Danya @ Fine Print

Yes, The Bloodbound series is *so* underrated! I wish more people knew how great it is. I haven’t read Firebrand (or anything else by Philip), but I’m definitely interested in it!

I loved the Rebel Angel series – Philip has a way of writing sexy brooding characters and Seth is just such a character.
