‘A census taker once tried to test me…’

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
If I be waspish, best beware my sting (A cover which features an insect)
And I’ve chosen The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris:
Funnily enough I really like the movie tie in for this book which rarely happens for me but that being said my favourite this week is:

Which is your favourite?
Next week – A horse
Future themes:
1st September 2017 – Being born in a stable does not make one a horse (A cover which features a horse)
8th September 2017 – That great condenser of moral chaos, The City (A cover which features a city)
25 August 2017
I kind of think I prefer the green version. It always amazes me how many different covers there are for some books. I love this meme and really should consider adding it to my blog!
Yeah, you should join us – I’m such a cover lover so I always enjoy taking part.
Lynn 😀
I never saw the cover you chose, and it’s very evocative – I love it! 🙂
That’s the first time I’ve seen that cover but it really is good isn’t it.
Lynn 😀
Once again, you’ve chosen a brilliant book for the subject:)). And yes… I think your favourite wins hands down. Oops! No pun intended… Have you any ideas about what the choices are going to be later in the year, Lynn?
I was just thinking the same thing. I think there’s only a couple left now – I was going to drop a list with a few suggestions on to Books by Proxy – if you want to suggest some too that would be great.
Lynn 😀
I’ve got a few ideas – a cover featuring a black and white design, featuring a heart, featuring a dragon, featuring a couple, featuring a key, featuring snow, featuring the night… You can use as few or as many as you see fit.
Excellent – I was thinking of a few too – I’ll put them together and send them over to Books by Proxy. It’s always good to have suggestions isn’t it.
Lynn 😀
Yes – I hope you don’t mind my putting in my two-pennyworth – but sometimes it helps to have a selection to choose from. And I would be devastated if this one died out as I really enjoy taking part:))
Me too – and I think running a meme and constantly coming up with the ideas is tough isn’t it so I know Proxy will be glad of these.
Lynn 😀
I agree; it is simple but elegant. I, too, like the movie tie-in cover; it goes well with the subject, as does the 2nd cover in the last row.
It’s an anomaly for me this one – I don’t usually like movie tie-in covers but I do like this one.
Lynn 😀
This is a great choice for the theme, and such a scary, creepy book/movie as well! I think the 5th cover is my favorite:-)
The 5th cover is pretty good. I like a few of these.
Lynn 😀
Your pick and the fifth cover are the two that immediately jumped out at me!
The fifth one is definitely popular.
Lynn 😀
While I have watched the film, I’m afraid I’ve not been brave enough to read the book! I agree though it has some great covers, including the movie tie-in one too, but I think my favourite is the second cover on the second row – simple but striking.
It’s a great story – I love the film and for once I actually like the movie tie-in.
Lynn 😀
