Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy . This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers. The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite. Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:
Hat “It is always cruel to laugh at people, of course, although sometimes if they are wearing an ugly hat it is hard to control yourself “
This week one book immediately sprang to mind and once I had it in my mind it had to be the one. Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury.
My favourite this week is, again, as last week unsurprisingly the cover I’m most familiar with:
Which is your favourite?
Next week – Gold
Future themes:
07/07/2017 – Gold “All that is gold does not glitter”
14/07/2017 – Boats “The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea, in a beautiful pea green boat…”
21/07/2017 – Planet “Any planet is ‘Earth’ to those who live on it”
Yes, definitely that cover, though I like the first one as well. 🙂
The first one is really good too. Difficult choice but I always seem to veer to the side of the book I read.

Absolutely love the cover you chose! It’s both eye-catching and creepy – and gives a glorious display of hat! 😀
I love that cover – it’s the book I own which I find seems to make me have a curious sense of love.
Lynn 😀
I like the first one – I love the play of shadows on the man’s face! Very spooky.
It’s a good cover.
Lynn 😀
Great book and I do love that striking green and black cover too, but I find myself leaning towards the first cover as it is similar to my dad’s old copy, which is the one I read 🙂
Ahh, yes, we are always swayed to the copies we’ve read.
Lynn 😀
I have to say that the first cover is really good – and I think you always have a preference for the book you read or owned – unless its absolutely hideous of course.
Lynn 😀
Yes – I love the cover you have chosen:). This is an amazing book – I read it as a teenager and the prose has lodged with me ever since, so a great choice, Lynn!
Thanks – I loved this book too.
