“Always winter but never Christmas.”

Here we are again with the Friday Face Off meme created by Books by Proxy .   This is a great opportunity to feature some of your favourite book covers.  The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book, compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite.   Future week’s themes are listed below. This week’s theme:

Street lamp “He stood under the street lamp, sleet settling in his hair, hands fisted at his side”

You may have guessed from the title but I had to go classic with this – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis – because Mr Tumnus!

And my favourite:

“Daughter of Eve from the far land of Spare Oom where eternal summer reigns around the bright city of War Drobe, how would it be if you came and had tea with me?”

Which is your favourite?  Next week – Casino

Future themes:

31/03/2017 – Casino “Whisky, gambling and Ferraris are better than housework “

05/05/2017 – Lion “If you place your head in a lion’s mouth, then you cannot complain one day if he happens to bite it off”

12/05/2017 – Phone “Don’t use the phone. People are never ready to answer it”

19/05/2017 – Plane “When everything seem to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it ….”

This is the first book that popped into my head too! I love the cover you picked, it really shows the feeling of cold and snow:-)

Yes, this book and The Exorcist were the two that first came to mind. A lot of covers for this one.

What a lovely choice of book – and a fabulous selection:)). My favourite is the one of Susan by the streetlight.

I totally agree! Wasn’t Mr. Tumnus the greatest?! 🙂

An interesting choice for your winner – I had missed it on my first pass on the contenders, but after seeing it in detail, I agree. It is very unique 🙂

Great choice and that is my favourite quote from my favourite character Mr Tumnus too 😀 My copy doesn’t have any of these covers – I received a beautiful set of the whole series one Christmas, which I have never ever seen in the shops before or since!

Such a classic choice for a cover with a lamp! I like the cover you chose too, mostly because it’s the same edition that I had when I was a kid. 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

How cool – I love that cover. Lucky you – I hope it has pride of place amongst your 500+ books – and it will be making that move with you 😀

  8. Amanda @Cover2CoverMom

I think my favorite is the blue one with the lamp post, but the one you chose is a close second 🙂

    • @lynnsbooks

There are some lovely covers for this one – I could have had plenty more entries.
      Lynn 😀
